or when the dealer of the hand goes, OH there is three spades on the table, or hey there is a flush draw out there.

Thats for the other dumb arses to work out, not for you to tell them. Especially when that third spade maks my nut flush....

People betting into a dry side pot. Worse is when they're actually bluffing. I know it's been discussed before, but sweet jesus it is annoying! I mean the twat put 5000 of his own chips at risk on a sheer bluff to win a pot of zero. I was compelled to fold my draw and watched with chagrin as I would've made my flush on the river, knocking out the all-in stack. Instead, the all-in stack won the hand (paired something or other) and I was *this* close to throttling the other guy. Stupid prick just sits there smirking 'I bluffed that guy out of the hand, I'm brilliant'. Utter bellend.

lol @ bellend :)

I'm surprised that touching the muck (or even looking at it with puppy dog eyes) isn't in the top 5. Maybe we have a special kind of rude person :) It's certainly my number 1 poker pet hate and I *would* shoot someone for that, or at the very least hack off their hand. So disgraceful.

My number 2 would have to be commenting on the hand when there's still players to make a decision. The 'ohh a flush draw' can usually be resolved with a harsh glare and they soon realise they should have shut up but when it's another player (or worse, a spectator) saying "oh I think he's on a draw and you have these odds and blah blah blah" or even just a "yeah I'd call" I want to strangle them so very much.

And then there's cats... oh wait... that's not poker.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

I don't really have anything to add to the discussion here, but I would like it known that the person that wrote this article deserves a raise for this sentence alone.

One thing that is a pet peeve of mine, is unreasonable impatience. As many can attest, I like to think through situations a bit before eventually coming to a decision (obviously in relation to big pots, critical moments, etc). If I don't instantly call or fold, there is no need to remind me that it's my turn - I'm paying attention and that slightly constipated "I'm thinking" look on my face normally isn't a show. I appreciate that the the blinds keep on moving on, but seriously, if a player needs a sensible amount of time to reach a conclusion, the least you can do is grant them the courtesy of not being obnoxiously impatient during the process. Obviously if a decision is taking too long, by all means ask a player to hurry or call time or whatever, but yeah, little respect goes a long way

bruce and gaz, i agree with what you are saying

BUT

sometimes people (including both of you i have to say) go into the tank for 30 seconds or a minute just to complete the small blind, or when facing a min bet from another player.

this is unacceptable in my opinion, and just slows the game down too much for a turbo format. if it takes this long to make a decision, it usually means you should have folded a minute ago - and usually this is the decision that is made.

having said that, you two are by no means the worst - and i don't think i have been a tool when i have called time on you in the past.

some people take a lot longer than you guys though.
