Seriously!! I REALLY hate JJ

Postby Nevah play JJ » Wed Aug 20, 2008 12:13 pm

Tell me, is this a bad beat or just sufferinyerjocksyouplayeditbadly type of play?

Playing at Checkmates lastnight:

I have chipstack of $15,200 (Ask Mr CBD how I got that much!.. lol)

I am UTG look down and have [js] [jh]
ALL IN! and plonk down my $15,2000

Fold

Call - $15,200

Folds all round

The caller turns up [ac] [5c]

Flop produces a damn [as]

Can't remember the rest because to be honest I was seething.

Am I wrong for being grumpy about this type of play?
Seriously, who goes all in UTG for that much without having a hand worth playing?

Needless to say, I was NOT happy!!!

What were the blinds Cazz?

How much did he have back?

But even then, I just LOVE it when people play like this against me. The only reason I care about why they've made such a mistake is so I can ensure I induce someone else to make the same mistake :D

If she says she had $15,200, I'm assuming the blinds could be no bigger than 300/600?

They you'd have to assume there was some fairly loose play involved on someone's part - doesn't really matter who's. Can't complain if what got you rich, also got you broke.

Easy come, easy go JJ ;)

Forgot to mention the blinds, sorry, they were $500/$1000

Ok, yep, overplay because I hate Jacks, to me it is either go hard or go home.. lol

So with Jacks, it is always go home.. :x grrrrrr

I think he had about $15,400. Only $200 more than me.

Actually I think that annoyed me most was I didn't do what my gutt told me to and FOLD those bastard cards.. lol

Huge overbet,

if you make that play at my table I am assuming you're not to confident in your hand and I would be calling off marginally. Depending on stack size and position.

But in real terms you are only going to get called by a better hand, or racing hands, 90% of the time.

Anyone with AA, KK, QQ, AK, AQ, KQ suited would be looking to double through you at this stage.

I'm not seeing this move with AA KK or QQ from UTG, so therefore I might be willing to race.

What you should have done is 4x or 5x BB see a flop and if an overcard hits you might be able to get away from that hand as you know the people calling either have pockets or overcards. Then it is just down to the read you have on your opponent.

Nah its only good when you push with it when you're behind, benny the cunt :D

On topic: JJ, you played the hand completely wrong. Seriously, all in for $15k, when blinds are 500/1000, from UTG? If you were watching that play what does it say to you?

1. I don't want you in this hand.
2. My hand is weak.

I'd put you on 2s or something similiar, A3, 78s. No one is going to put you on JJ, because while it isn't the best hand out there, it is strong. Just as no one would go all in from UTG with AA, KK or QQ, they won't with JJ. So there was your mistake. As Garth said, you should have 4x or 5x (I would've gone 4) BB raised, then played from the flop.
