She may not be drop dead gorgeous, but i don't reckon you would call her ugly. If she was playing, i'd watch. Chakvetadze = hottie.

Good idea, she's not exactly visually pleasant :)

Channel 7 - well I was in Sydney last weekend, and the Sydney siders kicked up such a fuss that Channel 7 interupted the Olympic coverage to show an AFL game on Sunday lunchtime (the Adelaide match no less, not even a swans game, lol).

The uproar was huge!!

Channel 7 formally apologised and then announced to their loyal viewers that they would not be showing the Sunday game the following week on the 17th, but keeping their olympic coverage on the air.

Coming home to Adelaide I thought cool, no AFL game on Sunday 17th, and YEP, Channel 7 showed the bloody AFL to us!! Stupid Station.

I only watch SBS now.

Someone told me that they even went as far to put commercial breaks in on the opening ceremony!! (ok it wasn't even all real, but come on).

Still in shock of it all.

i think people care waay too much about things like that

i think their coverage has been ok

some people say that its bad that they don't show matches in full, such as the basketball etc.

then other people complain that there is not enough variety, and that they always have the basketball on when there is other sports that they could be switching between.

so you can't please everyone, its impossible.

whats wrong with showing the footy, they forked out a fortune in TV rights for it.

and to go further, some people complained that they cut away from the footy to go back to the olympics too soon, and didn't interview andrew mcleod because it was his 300th game.

they are paying a fortune for the rights to broadcast the olympics, so it is a fact of life that they have ads in there. but i agree, keeping them to a min is always good.

I hear what you are saying benny the cunt, but I am just amazed that Channel 7 didn't even consider their olympic coverage when entering into the contract for the AFL coverage. I mean, weigh up the two costs of the contract and I am sure that they would have spent a lot more securing the rights to the olympics.

i assume they did, and that's why SBS have some rights to broadcast.
