i just downloaded poker tracker, that is a SICK program - much more than i ever could have wanted in a tracker.
LOL no more of me tracking my results in an excel spreadsheet.
anyway, it has got 2186 hands out of the hand history, which is since 26/7/08
this is for NL holdem tournament poker
my VPIP (voluntary money in pot) = 32.25
for early blind levels, it seems to be up around 40%
in the mid stages of the tourneys, it is down at about 25%
in the late stages of the tournament, it is back up to 40 or more, but i think a lot of this is fairly short handed.
i will preflop raise 13% or the time, which i guess is about 39% of the hands that i actually play, i am raising with.
i win 46% of the flops i see
i go to showdown only 30% of the flops i see
aggression factor 4.07
aggression frequency 55%
3bet 6.35%
Fold to 3bet 55.56%
Att to steal 20.25%
Fold BB to steal 68.75
Fold SB to steal 73.91%
top 10 starting hands in terms of BB/hand
A9s, KQs, AJs, QQ, 66 55 KK AKo KTs 33 (AA was 11th)
worst 10 hands in terms of BB/hand
72s K5s A5o 94o A5s 84s 88 A3s 77 QJs
so i think i overplay middle pairs and Ace rag
positions - i do badly from the SB and BB positions, probably because i lead out with c-bets a lot
Return on Investment - 142.62%
so from these stats, i think i am pretty aggressive, but too aggressive from early position and with middle pairs and Ace rag
pokertracker is pretty awesome software
any comments about my stats? Brett?

Usually the first comment for any pokertracker stats. Need More Hands.
i will preflop raise 13% or the time, which i guess is about 39% of the hands that i actually play, i am raising with.
Not too certain if the 39% of hands is the one i am after or the VPIP. But you are playing way too many hands in a tournament. Should be aiming for 25 - 30%. Look at your UTG and UTG+1 range of hands and tighten up there.
Fold BB to steal 68.75
Fold SB to steal 73.91%
Too me it seems you aren't protecting your blinds unless you have a good hand. If i was the player that is dealer on your BB or behind dealer, i would be raising and three betting each time to get value out of my hand.
Think about it this way. 3 times out of 10 you will play the hand. So 7 times out of ten they are taking your money. Puts it into a +ev play for them. Not to mention the 3 times out of 10 you play, they can easily assign a high hand range.
I haven't played with pokertracker, but after looking at what you have done benny the cunt, i am definitely keen on it. Especially if it is as easy to read as you describe it.

Re: What Type of Poker Player are You?
thanks for your reply brett
firstly, there definitely needs to be more hands tracked to give me a better indication of my stats - this is only in the last 3 weeks!
i think the thing i need to work on is playing my position more. this includes protecting my BB, and tightening up my hand range from early position.
when it says "steal" here, i am guessing that it means folding to a preflop raise. this happens quite often as i am playing the low limits, and people like to go all in a lot.
in general, i very rarely call raises - i usually like to be the aggressor rather than call. but i guess this leaves me open to a pretty easy read if someone is smart enough to be aggressive against me.
i installed it last night, and it auto imported the hands that were in my hand history - which wasn't much.
all of these stats were there on the screen in plain view - it was very easy.
in addition, these stats were there for EVERY other player i had ever played against. further still, on the table, the VPIP, PFR and AF stats were displayed next to each player on the table, which was very useful to work out who the aggressors and the tight players are.

Re: What Type of Poker Player are You?
2600 odd hands is a very small sample size - you'll really start to see the benefits of this software when you have 50k hands and above to work from.
Pokertracker's real value is for cash games too, not so much for tournaments.

Re: What Type of Poker Player are You?
Is it pokertracker v3 or v2?
If the stats are already overlayed i am thinking V3 merged Pokertracker and PAHud.
Yeah Low limit stakes suck. Especially when people push all in of 50bb or more on Aces. Even more fun when they get sucked out on and call people on the table names and such.
I have been called the worse player ever at least 5 times now. I like min betting 50bb pots.
. hehehehe

min betting big pots with teh nuts is awesome - especially because dudes think u are a fish trying to steal with such a crappy raise, and will usually just push all in.

bennymacca wrote:my flop percentage was 24% last night after 150 hands of a tourney (and i came 2/45)
i think it really depends on what position i get my limping cards in as to how many flops i play
sounds like a " Bruce fold night" to me M8
chapter three page 37 Hmmm !!!
