I'm itching to try this at a regular event a couple of times - I can see it either building a stack quickly, or busting out quickly.

Putting in all in preflop with AK? I did it twice, recently, at two pub poker games.

Game 1: UTG goes all in preflop for 5000. Folds around to me in no 2, I call with AK suited. She has pocket 5s.

She flops a set and turns quads.

Game 2: Blinds 1000/2000, there's a raise to 4000. I go over the top for 10,000 with AK offsuit. He calls me with A3 suited

He flops a 3.

You're pretty much right - you're either going to get a lot of chips, or bust out. That article is right, with AK you need to see all five cards.

the same guy sucked out bad on me aswell, blinds are 2000/4000 Villian has 7k, i had about 15k or so, i had K 10 off in BB, he was dealer, everyone folds around to him he calls the 4k, SB folds i raise the extra 3k to put him all in, he calls turns over A 9 off flop K 10 Rag, Turn A river 9...
