We all know that B&G is the best region in the state. And that Bob never had any roots.

Hey don't try picking on us B&G boys Bacon. We are as one when you pick on one of us M8.

Actually, I enjoy their game some what better than the venues I play at in the NE district. I like their attitude and ability to raise preflop nearly every hand 8-) with almost any two (2) cards is a real test to my ability to get a read of some sort.

I think they like the Gus Hansen theory "that any two cards are good cards until they're beaten". They tend to build a good table image and it's a real challenge for me to be able to hang in there.

A different style of player to the Hills or Gardens but very similar to what you see on telly. So that may be their reasons as to why they play the way they play. Too much Fox and not enough city games maybe??? :?

I'm sure if you were to talk to some of the B&G guys they will tell you that's why they have more finishers in the State finals that most other areas. And AK you are the root of the north M8 ........everyone knows that, LOL.

Respecting raises... that's not known in the NE.

That's why I'm trying to qualify for States in the East

I would love to play a game in the B&G region one day.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become

if you look at players in the points vs number of players that play in a certain region, i think we would be punching well above our weight, including the first ever state finals winner, and 2 players on the final table in the recent states.

It's not really the stats but the play that gets people there that I thought was doubtful. I don't think people are quite thinking on the same level as Gus when they play.

if any of us were on the same poker thinking level as gus, then we wouldn't be playing NPL would we :P

To all and sundry, the comment regarding Gus Hansen like plays was not being derogative moreso the opposite. ;)

In the 3 weeks I have played at the Kingy (and before you jump on the band wagon, I realise that doesn't constitute all B&G members) it was purely my view as to why I enjoyed playing there. Again, nothing more, nothing less!!!! :?

And again my views may not be that of others that represent the B&G punters. 8-) And for me personally, I like the Gus Hansen theory but my boys aren't big enough to put it into practice.

Which is why I don't think there's really anything in the theory. Most regions play feels the same for me.

But we're getting off-topic here, so continue with the suggestions for Dave.
