The GF left her $200 sunnies in Fiji last week.
I don't have a pair of NPL ones to replace them with, unfortunately.

You wanna know why I started watching it? JJ Abrams.
I absolutely LOVE Alias. Although that's more to do with Jennifer Garner than the show, but I digress. JJ is a great storyteller, and Lost looked intriguing enough to warrant at least one viewing.
I kept watching it because the pilot hooked me in, and it was different to the usual "CSI" type crap we kept getting that year. I had confidence in the producer's ability to take the show in the right direction, they wouldn't just haphazardly through the idea together and not figure out where its going.
Anyway, I like the show because all around, its quality TV. The acting is great, the writing is pretty good and the characters are hands down some of the best I've seen on TV. Michael Emerson does a FANTASTIC job with Benjamin Linus, and Matthew Fox is pretty good as Jack. One of the show's strengths is the fact that the producers are always keeping us guessing, always leaving some questions unanswered. While I do believe that at times they've gone too far, I think now, they've found a great balance. And besides, wanting to know what's going on is the main reason why I, and I think everyone else, has kept watching.
They did need a big payoff sooner or later though - and they delivered in the season 3 finale.

Off topic, but the fact that Dominic Monaghan is in both shows reminded me ...
This has to be the stupidest name for a TV show ever. I get annoyed every time I see it.

Re: Lost *spoilers*
i have to agree, the acting is AWESOME in the show, it is really its strength.
i also like michael emerson as Ben Linus, and i think he is the main reason the show has done so well.
but it is very rare that even the bit parts are played to perfection, and this show does it perfectly

Re: Lost *spoilers*
There are two things LOST about this show.
1. The characters are lost on the island
2. The story line

Carp show, good for the first two episodes only.
I cant believe they have stretched one interesting premise into over 3 seasons of mind-numbing stupidity.
