Well, I've tried this for 3 games now, and I must say I don't mind it at all - I'm a convert.

3 games not cashing either until the break - or I got under 500 with only 5 minutes till 1st break last night so I cashed one then too.

I'm sure there will be a tourney one day where I hit the nuts and manage to get all my chips in, but how often is that going to happen versus the extra concentration i apply because I'm "short" stacked?

how does this all change with the fact that you get an extra 1000 at the break now?

I actually found it worked well. We trialled that new blind system, too.

During the first session, I played my best poker ever last night. I didn't cash in any cards during the night, and using a few good reads and bluffs, I managed to be 200 up at the first break. Coming back to 4200, and a good table image, really helped.

I found the entire table was much tighter, too. Nobody was rushing all in on KQ/AJ etc because they wanted their 2k at the second break. When Craig pushed all in on the flop, he was risking his 2k, and at least 3 people went "Craig!!". Turns out Craig had the flush on the flop.

When you come back to 200/400 blinds, an extra 2k really helps.
