Who's your favourite TD and why?

Postby Garth Kay » Thu Oct 18, 2007 4:37 pm

There has being some, recent, serious discussion amongst the staff on who is the most popular Tournament Director and why?
After throwing numerous amounts of bets and taunts around we have decided to see if any members are willing to post on here their thoughts on their favourite TD!

oooo that's a tough one!

I'm not sure I could pick just one favourite so I'll just list the ones I rate very highly:

Nathan
Darren
Shannon
Tim

Dakota, James (not young James), Damo and Linda are pretty good too.

From what I saw on Sunday I reckon Alex would be a pretty decent TD as well.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Hi Pete,
Here's a fence, pull up a seat! Feeling comfortable?
Just kidding!
I'm extremely glad it's a tough one.

I've only really ever had 2 TD's and they are Alex and Andre. Both are quite good TD's.

Apart from them I found Nathan to be quite good as well (at the AMFR and State Final)

Yeh, sorry Andre, you're a gun but Alex is Top Gun for mine. Not only as a Tournament director but for his interest in the venues and helping develop the tournaments he runs. And a top bloke to boot.

Maybe I shouldn't have started this thread. I see some tears and dummy spits in the future.

I like a TD with a personality, as well as one that doesn't make people feel silly for asking questions, or doesn't like being the centre of attention (because everyone wants a peice of you).

All the TDs I've had are capable and do the job well. None have left me wondering. But the two that make playing in the NPL that little bit more enjoyable are Nathan and Darren.

They both know their poker but on top of that, know how to talk to people, keep a smile on and not come across as "bigger than the game". Easy blokes to talk to.

I've got a lot of time for the TDs that run events solo, even though that's what the numbers dictate. Doing everything by yourself regardless of numbers is a fair effort in my book. Shannon (sp?) did a great job at the Modbury when she was by herself with probably 70 people to contend with.

I haven't had much time to play where Dakota has been but at Roulettes (which, with almost 140 people is a hard one) has taken control well.

Ok, here's an easy way to decide your favourite

Have you won a tournament?
Who dealt the final table?

There's your answer :)
