MOST people who come out to the NPL for the first time, come with a friend who has been before.

Don't see an issue in them helping their friend etc - that's what usually happens anyway.

I'd have to agree with AK on this matter. Simply because in my experience when a new player is at a table, even someone who has never played before, there is always someone who knows enough and is willing to help. I have never sat on a table where there was someone unsure of what to do and no one was willing to help. From my experience everyone is more then happy to help from the regulars who play for fun to the more serious 'out to win' players. Although they may be nervous about their first time I believe there is more then enough support from the other players. Whether it's explaining chip values or simply informing them of their options, there is always one, if not more people on the table ready and willing to lend assistance.
If you've got luck...use it!

I dunno about a good role model but a bad one would be benny the cunt Macca. Simply because he forgot to hang around for the 2nd draw while chasing a spot in states. If he taught a new player this it could take a while for the mistake to be repaired. Next season we could have something like the top 10 all forgetting about the second draw with two rounds left and not one of them end up making states. There you go benny the cunt, I couldn't resist

I dont know about a role model or anything like that, but most definitley within the npl community, its always a pleasure to see Tony Bickle at every venue i almost play at. Always greeting you with a handshake and up for a chat i think hes an all round top bloke that shows what the npl is about,. and with strong results in most seasons he certaintly can play with the best of them.
