I think I'm even more confused now!
My main query was whether Lee would qualify via the 1st or 2nd leaderboard which has an effect on people below him.

Yes Brice you do qualify,
Lee qualifies through the Thursday event as he finishes "fourth" on that leaderboard.

I got the same results as you when I used the 1st method.
When I used the 2nd method however, I got different results which was quite interesting but that doesn't seem to matter anyway as it's not the method that's used

Re: State Finals Qualification Process (Venue Top 5)
Brice,
By putting blanks in there, you can see that Lee would qualify 4th in one and 5th in another, if you were to move him up as people fell out.
But in the second method, he'd qualify in the other one, because he has more points.
I think.
So method 1 is used.

Cheers Garth, I assumed that I qualified by finishing 3rd!
Thanks for the clarification regarding Lee. Good news for Steve Johnson as it was the difference between him qualifying and not qualifying for state finals.

So Steve Johnson gets in because method 1 is used. Correct.
All good.
I hereby change my name to Steve Johnson.

Re: State Finals Qualification Process (Venue Top 5)
Okay,
State Top 50 are removed from all venue leaderboards.
Then all top 5 venue leaderboards are re sorted.
If you are in multiple top 5's then you qualify via the venue finished the highest position, if there is a tie for position then it is sorted by highest points scored.
Does that make sense?
It's the best way to communicate it.
