Scene set at the at the infamous Studio 89
Sunday 20th Jan 8.59 precisely said player short stacked.
playing for position on final table to take down 'Big Pete" and with a Stein of Beer posted to the first player to win with "pocket aces" and in front of fellow forum posters and on the advice of "PointRus" the Frog.
Said player without hesitation goes "allin".
Why not he thinks.
needless to say Said player takes down a KK and a QJ to take the table chiplead and heads off to enjoy the beer.

he's exactly right,
pocket kings you can contemplate because acey duecey hits ace.
Pocket aces needs a 2 pair or better to get taken down.
If your shortstacked, they're the miracle cards your not gonna get again.
if you can safely fold the hand and get the prize 100% then fold your pocket 1's

Online and the shortstack? doesnt matter if you have AA or 34s you've lost.
live, how bad do you want that seat/money?if your late position and on the buuble, extremely active table, you'd prob wanna fold cos you'd me pretty sure of making it. Its all about how your table is playing, if its dead table and you have 2-3BB left you dont have a choice really, but if its very active and you know you will cash if you fold then its about how badly YOU want the money

Re: AA short stacked. Do you play
I'm horrible at folding AA - haven't yet pre-flop, but have post from time to time. I also tend to err on the side of aggression so I would say that my chips would hit the table before the cry of 'but they were suited' echoes across the room to justify the 2/3 call.
If I thought about it I would probably fold if all were getting paid the same after the bubble, and call if you get more for the win. Gotta play for the win at all times.
In an NPL tourney, would put the other 2 all-ins on Ax and again would likely call. Worse case, I lose and get a bad beat story to whinge to the TD about. Revenge is sweet

I don't think there are too many circumstances where I would actually fold AA pre flop.
Will dance for your chips!

Well, Goose it's nice to see you posting again and to get such a good response is even better.
Has anyone else besides me noticed how many new or should I say non regular Forum Posters are replying to this thread???
chops, King Groove, RKJ, Huntr, Andy-Thomas, Gail, Imre, Possie, Shark, Sky Hooks, Michael Whiting, Common Camel, Sirplus, Rickm, Big Jezz, Leigh Ryan.
It's really good to see some new faces on the forum and offering your views.
As much as respect Garth and Bretts comments and reasonings as to not play the aces and considering I'm a reasonably tight player I'd have to say I'd probably play the aces.
I've never folded pocket aces before and I'd say I've won more times than I've lost with them, so I'd take my chances with them again.
