I can, because that's what Football is short for to begin with.

This is why whenever someone says 'football' but they mean some other sport, they are incorrect.

You can't use examples of why to call it Football when if all those examples called it Soccer, you would still call it football ;)

what about this from the glossary of terms in the FIFA statutes
