another question you should ask yourself bob
if you pushed all in on that hand, and lost, would you still have finished 3rd? i.e whats the point in folding and leaving yourself with 5K, which cripples you and leaves you out in 3rd, when if you call and lose, you also finish third?
does that make sense?
if you had called with 2-7, you were giving yourself a shot at 80K, even if you needed 2 or more outs to hit.
its a question of Expected value.

Wow Bob - to be honest I'm a little shocked you folded that. I would think a player of your caliber would call that, every time.
But poker is all about learning mate and I've made a few stupid decisions like that myself.
Shannon: If he was in the BB for $40k, that means next hand he's in the SB for $5k - and like Bob said he can only win $15k, total. Let's say Bob wins that hand and is sitting on $15k. He has one hand before the blinds push him all in preflop - if Bob goes all in on his $15k, both players call him (an unlikely scenario) and he wins, that's $45k. Which puts him in the same position - BB for $40k, with $5k left over next hand.
If Bob originally called for another $5k, he could have won $135k - I would be surprised if that's not chip leader. Then you're in the SB for $20k, which means if you fold, you've got $115k, still a dominant stack.
In that situation, you should always be calling. "Folding down" for a higher position just isn't feasible with 3 runners.

benny the cunt, this is the wrong forum for it, but what the hell.
The dark side I found extremely comforting back in February and March and it continues to amaze me.
Who knows, I may just start to enjoy an NPL experience all over again (this time with extreme caution) but the players are the best part of all leagues, and I respect a lot of players as people and friends.

The stupidity of it all was that there were only 3 of us left. I was BB for $40k UG called SB raised either ALLIN or A big raise I can't remember.
For some stupid reason I thought UG would call as they had similar sized stacks and if one got knocked out I'd finish second.
Normally I would have put it all in anyway and I actually had J2 off which were possibly both live cards. It wasn't the odds or % it was just a NON THINKING moment of survival.

Thank you for your thoughts AK and yes I thought I was a better player than that too. But, it was one of those "I f..cked up moments" M8. Read my second thread I had J2 off,,,,,,,both were possibly live cards.
