I have had personal mail about certain venues and how I rate them.
So I have decided to do 'COUGAR'S VENUE REVIEW'.
The following rules apply.
Only venues where I have played poker, had a meal and purchased drinks will be reviewed- NO HEARSAY.
I will not shitcan any venue just because I had a bad night at cards or the TD kept putting me in the blinds every time I changed tables.
I will be fair in my review- I am not paid by any venue or anyone to give good or bad reviews= No cash for comments.
I will not reply to personal mail from now on- good or bad.
You have the right to agree or disagree with my assessment, but comments must only address my assessments. Keep to the topic and don't highjack the forum.

Re: COUGAR'S VENUE REVIEW- BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB
BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB- Area CBD
29 Torrens Road
OVINGHAM SA 5082
(08) 8269 4455
Thursdays 7.00pm for 8.00pm
As this is the first of The Cougar's venue reviews I'll start at the start.
CARPARKING: The BBC is not overly blessed in the carparking stakes with a small to medium bitumen carpark 50 - 60 cars. It may be necessary to park in the side streets. Watch out for the PERMIT HOLDERS/ RESIDENT ONLY signs if you park in the street.
THE BUILDING: If it's ambience and atmosphere you enjoy, the BBC is tops. The decor is brilliant and the chairs are very comfortable. The open log fire in winter is brilliant. Only negative is the lighting when playing cards. You need 20/20 vision or better. I carry a spare cigarette lighter or a miners helmet with lamp to read my cards and see the flops. The gents latrines would be the smallest in Australia but are generally clean and tidy.
THE FOOD: The food is between OK and good but allow plenty of time between ordering and getting to eat it. They do one of the biggest burgers I have ever seen for about $11 and it's worth 3 stamps. The S & P squid is very nice- big serve for about $13. The curries are OK and the steaks are OK to good. The fish & chips is very good. Oh and the warm/cold chicken salad is probably the best thing on the menu. The 3 dips package is overpriced but nice.
Overall- Yummy especially during winter with a large selection of curries to warm you up in front of the fire. Two to three stamps is generally the norm.
THE DRINKS: The Bombay serves pints and half pints (IMPERIALS) and prices for a pint of light start at $6.25- 2 stamps. Full spirits start at $5.85 for 2 stamps. Expensive chip ups. They usually have a monthly beer special for $6 a pint.
THE SERVICE: Don't be in a hurry for food or drinks because you will only be disappointed. The staff are reasonable to look at and in attitude, but don't be in a rush and don't go asking for extra stamps as Management is dead set firm on this. You spend- you get stamped.
THE POKER CROWD: A real nice bunch of people. Very enjoyable with good manners the norm. In fact I would have to say there is probably less swearing and bad language at the BBC than anywhere else I've played. The numbers were good to start (70) but have dropped to between 30- 40. No doubt because of the drink chip up prices.
IN CONCLUSION: Get there early, enjoy the venue and the people and just remember- FOUR IMPERIAL PINTS in 2 hours PUTS YOU WAY OVER .05 The Cougar recommends this venue 7 out of 10.

Re: COUGAR'S VENUE REVIEW
also they give 4 stamps for most things on the menu, also might depend on which mood the girl at the bar is in
