Are you a West Coast supporter AK?
And it was against all odds.
Would you have picked them in your footy tipping Des?

Most people in my comp picked Carlton. They were shorter odds before the game, too.

For real?
I would not have picked that at all.
Why would anyone have picked Carlton to beat West Coast over there? Especially on the losing streak they have just come off. They are due another long one.

Re: GO BLUES!!!!
West Coast themselves had lost the last 5 matches (now 6).
An already depleted team which also lost Kerr to suspension, Cox was not fully fit, and many inexperienced youngsters. No surprise to see the Blues slight favourites for this game.

Yes.

Not at all. To elaborate upon what Scott said...

Last 5 matches:
Round 2 West Coast vs Adelaide Loss 57-133 (76 points)
Round 3 West Coast vs Fremantle Loss 73-87 (14 points)
Round 4 West Coast vs Sydney Loss 45-107 (62 points)
Round 5 West Coast vs Port Adelaide Loss 104-128 (24 points)
Round 6 West Coast vs Western Bulldogs Loss 74-134 (60 points)
Players out:
- Kerr (suspension)
- Lecras (injury)
- Hunter (injury)
- Staker (suspension, I think?)
- Priddis (injury)
- Butler (injury)
- Hurn (injury)
- Hansen (I think injury, although wouldn't surprise me if its poor form, hasn't played since Rd 4)
With the exception of Butler, who hasn't played a game since 1980, those are some massive omissions. Cox isn't fully fit, Glass has a niggling injury... no surprise Carlton were favourites. I mean, that injury list is practically our entire forward line. Lecras, Hunter, Staker, Hansen... thank god for Ben McKinley.
I expected West Coast to lift so they could beat Judd... sigh. Realistically though, it was always going to be a hard match. Its so frustrating to see the team play great and change a 53 point deficit to 7 points, then lose. Actually, letting it get to 53 points in the first place is awful.
Just sucks to see that, at times, we can play well enough to challenge teams... then throw it all away because we're not disciplined enough to stick at that level for four quarters.
And yes, most people I spoke to picked Carlton. I tipped the Eagles.

Re: GO BLUES!!!!
I would have thought even after the form we have shown of late there is no way anyone would or should pick Carlton to win against West Coast let alone an away match.
Carlton's record is appalling on interstate grounds, so even with the injuries and suspensions that West Coast currently have that still does not mean that it was going to be a walk in the park for them.
West Coast was disappointing to say the least.
As a non-outofthewoodwork supporter I say YIPPEE BLUES!!!!
