i think it gets back to treating everyone else with a bit of respect, regardless of their skill level, what they called/knocked you out with etc.
remember we were all beginners one day, and probably knocked someone out with our own bad play (back then and now still!)
if you cant handle being sucked out on on the river, then dont play poker.
if someone draws out on you, shake their hand, laugh and say "well played" and walk off. simple as that
donkey ?

Re: non-thinking player ?
even if they hit their only out in the deck that could beat you, that doesnt mean anyone has the right to say that they are a don-k or anything like that.
everyone knows that it wasnt good play, so it doesnt need to be said

Hence the reason to point it out to them ...

Re: non-thinking player ?
In either scenario you offered Steve; both examples are unacceptable. Calling a player anything that can be classified as derogatory no matter what manner it was said in or the words used is worthy of a penalty.
Pointing out that someone made a bad play is unacceptable as well, UNLESS, you are trying to demonstrate to them why it was and what they could possibly do next time.
Bad beats and suck outs are part of this game, losing to a one outer to four outer on the river is never nice, BUT if they showed you their cards before they acted on your move would you tell them to call? If you were in the same situation again and again would you want that call?
OF COURSE YOU WOULD, because you have your money in the pot in a +EV situation and that's what you want to be doing all the time. So guys playing against players who are not as skilled as you will always be frustrating but also a good thing for the game.
So if I see anyone berating a player for making a bad play at a poker table I generally take that player to the side and tell them to pull their head out.
Intimidating and insulting a player that is continually making bad plays is not something you want to do, sending dead money on it's way because you think your King Shi.te is never a good move.
DON'T TAP THE GLASS!! EVER!!
