stop making my wanna cry, i am at work.

3 games in the points in a row now, starting to turn the season around.

PS if you are a loose passive player, sit on my table, you will smash me every time. this might sound wierd, but i play a lot better against people that i actually rate as poker players. its much easier to get a read on them, which is my strength.

my weakness is firing too much at a pot with c-bets, or just in late position having a crack at the pot. This is where passive middle-pair players call me down, and i lose.

Well you know the hole in your game, fix it or adapt.
It's that easy, you want to keep on making the same mistakes over again and again?

Stop floating a bet, your stack isn't large enough to float, unless you are playing small pot poker; which won't work in NPL.

Check in place of your c bet, learn to give up on a hand early, it might be pretty but learn to lay it down.

Moving all in on the flop will get called down most of the time, but if the turn comes a blank then an all in will only get called 25% of the time.

If you roll so badly as a poker player and you flop a set, but a straight or flush draw lands, and you know the other player is drawing against you, why move all in? Why not value bet or check your set or top two and see if they suck out on you. Generally the all in bet is too push someone of a pot or to make it look like a shove when you are ahead, if you are not going to be able to shove your opponent don't do it.

Garth, you are exactly right

I know this is what i should be doing, but actually resisting the temptation - thats the hard part, especially when i have had a few beers and a few laughs.

home game or online, i usually do a lot better than i do at NPL, but i am working on it.

I think a lot of it is timing, i need to be more selective with when i put out the c-bet, depending on who is in the hand etc.

i have been caught out twice this season pushing all in, when a lot of players would have folded, this player didn't. Thats my problem i know, but hey, if i fixed all my weaknesses like that, then i wouldn't be playing NPL would i.

thanks for the feedback garth

Continuation bet,
Basically:
You raise pre flop, get callers, and bet the flop no matter what hits.
Continuation bet!
