So you agree with me now? :?

Not about ability?

So, Adl have no chance of winning the flag cause it's played in Melb :)

Good to see we're on the same page now :D

Ummm....didn't the Crows already win 2 flags at the MCG...??? :?
What?, poker without the river??, you've just made my dreams come true!!!

The draw is a factor, yes, but they are going to earn it.

This. If it was all about easy draw then north melb would be top right now

I don't think it is hate, more like adding perspective.

it definitely can be the difference between 4th and 5th for instance, but not between top 4 and say 8th which is what jav seems to be suggesting. if that was the case then NM would also be top 4.

i think the crows are placed about where they should. they are clearly below the top couple of teams in the comp, west coast and collingwood, and are going ok against the teams in the rest of the eight and below.

Wins
Sydney, Fremantle, Geelong, St Kilda, Carlton, Bulldogs, Port, GC, GWS

Losses
Hawthorn, Collingwood, North

thats hardly just beating the easybreats of the competition, 5 of our wins have come from teams either in the eight or close to it.

its not like the crows have played all bottom 4 sides or anything, which some people seem to think.

Hate on Adl??? They've made me so much money this year, I definitely don't hate them!!! :)

If you read back, it all started on whether Adl was a contender or not and I don't see them as a flag contender at all this year. My point was finishing Top4 (which isn't GTD yet) doesn't make them an auto contender, especially when they haven't beaten any of the main contenders for the flag (except Syd).

Do I see them a contender in the coming years? For sure, I've stated that previously and if they can win a finals game this year, that would greater benefit them for next year and beyond.

What Nth have an easier draw than Adl

Adl get to play the top sides only once at AAMI which is a greater advantage than any other side.

Nth would be currently 6th if we had of won against Ess (missed after siren) & PtA (gave away unbeatable lead in last 10 mins) but on form especially before the weekend, we don't deserve to be anywhere near the Top8 but the draw has kept us in contention.

If Adl played every team twice, they wouldn't finish in the Top4, but would definitely make Top8 on current form.

An easier draw just allows you to finish at a higher ladder position, and that will give you a little advantage if you can get a home final or double chance, but in the end, the teams with finals experience always seem to prevail.

There is only 2 games difference between 2nd & 7th. By the end of the season, you don't reckon a much easier draw doesn't have a major impact on where you finish?

they are the only other team to play both GWS and GC twice as far as i know, so yeah their draw is pretty decent too.

so they havent done something except doing that thing? right.

thats like saying collingwood have only beaten sides below them on the ladder so they must be crap. a moot stat really. crows have beaten all of the teams just below them on the ladder except hawthorn and north, and have lost to all teams above them except syd

im not sure why this is even a discussion, none of us crows supporters are suggesting that the crows are in the top 2 teams in the comp, but they are definitely in that second bracket that, given a good run with injuries, and the possibility of a home final, could definitely make a grand final. i think a prelim would be a good result though

Jav, why are you analysing Adelaide's regular season to closely and mentioning things like the fixtures (please don't call it a "draw" as that implies it was randomly generated which it's not) when ...

You can't compare Finals to Home & Away games. Rich beat Haw by 10+ goals at the MCG, that means nothing. benny the cunt mentioned it in an earlier post that he wouldn't like to play against Gee or Haw in 2nd week of finals, why, cause they know how to WIN finals.

Surely it doesn't matter what happens in the H&A games? ;)

And they only play Hawks, Pies & Geelong once too. Only one trip to Perth, and once to Adelaide.

North aren't exactly struggling with their fixtures.

WOW, i think some of the my responses have been misinterpreted.

Throughout this thread, I've always stated that Nth had an easy draw but benny the cunt, you mentioned above that Nth should be on top meaning that we had a much easier draw than Adl, well we all know that is not true but overall we have an easier draw than most other teams, like I've stated here:
Jav1000 wrote:Nth would be currently 6th if we had of won against Ess (missed after siren) & PtA (gave away unbeatable lead in last 10 mins) but on form especially before the weekend, we don't deserve to be anywhere near the Top8 but the draw has kept us in contention.

I never once said Adl were crap, I said they weren't a contender for the flag, big difference! They are a Top8 side, maybe even a Top6 side, meaning there are 5 teams better than Adl, how is that crap?

Well, if you intend to make the Prelim and/or GF, don't you think you should be able to beat some of the teams that are contenders for the flag?

History has been right about this for a long time. Don't take this as a personal attack on Adl, I would say the same about Nth if we were currently Top4 or even on top of the ladder.

All teams obviously lose occasionally to teams below them, but if you can't beat the sides you'll be up against in the finals, what chance are you expecting to be in the finals with little finals experience?

OK, Let's see if Adl can make you some more money. I'll put $20 on them to win the flag this year (888 transfer) if you give me 10:1 odds. Deal?
