I played online for a week or so leading up to the Golden Ticket and I have never had so many bad beats in a row, it was doing my head in and it really killed my confidence.
On the Friday night, I had Top Set vs bottom pair and went runner runner flush & had middle set vs Top Pair and went runner runner Full House, both All-In on Flop. At that point, I thought to myself, I'm taking a week or so from poker and not going to Golden Ticket event the next day as I already had a ticket and just would be putting myself up for more punishment, I was on TILT like never before with the Poker Gods as the beats were continually so bad!!!
I woke up in the morning and suddenly thought, I must go to this Golden Ticket Event as I've been playing as good as ever but just not getting the results and it will eventually turn around, you know that better than anyone, you .....!!!(shaking my head).
I got there late which meant that I didn't start playing til 20mins before the first break. In the end, I was lucky enough to win the $2k Golden Ticket prize, but I was more stoked with myself leaving the running bad in the past which was a big factor in taking it down.
I realise now after listening to the TILT section that whenever I went through a run of bad beats, it had always affected the way I played in future games, I became more cautious trying to avoid a possible bad beat instead of just playing my natural game.
Thanks Boys, very informative!
