Whats Your Decision

Postby gundog » Thu Sep 15, 2011 7:27 am

Last night live venue game.

Down to the 2 tables,13 runners left, blinds are 2/4k, the opponent generally grinds his way to points most weeks.

I'm in the SB opponent is BB, all other players fold it up to me to call to go to heads up. I call.

I'm delt [10h] [8h]

The flop is [9h] [6h] [5s]

After looking at his chipstack I min bet 4k, the opponent shoves all in, a count of his chip he has an additional 7.5k, I have him covered with an additional 5.5k behind. I call.

Opponent show [ac] [5c]

Spoiler:
The turn [qh]

He proceeds to leave the table in a shitty attitude mumbling chaser you should have folded after I went all in.

This is of coarse my play relative to the pub-poker (where almost in all cases, everyone is short stack with 10 BB's or less).

quick calculations tell me its going to cost you 7.5k to win a pot of 22.5, thats 3 to 1 and you have a straight flush draw, its pub poker, who in their right mind wouldnt be getting it in right there

as for the comment about you should have folded after the shove, this player obviously has no real idea what they are doing,

i never like to admit it gundog but you played this hand exactly how i think you should have.
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

I'd probably raise pre too but I'm super aggressive with blinds this late.

i think you played it fine postflop, you can never fold there.

if you say that the player in the bb is tight, i would probably even shove preflop and just hope to get the blinds and antes

Well played sir, that late in the game you gotta take those risks, i think your opponent should have shoved pre flop or you shove if you want to play a hand like that. Either way the outcome doesnt change. Stacks at this stage don't allow raise fold so get it all in pre.
