I'm not sure I understand why you raised 10x the blind.
I can see how it would be tempting to call down with Ace high, but yeah still a bit rough.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

It's a cubed event and 5x wasn't getting any respect no matter who was raising. Obviously 10x wasn't enough to get rid of Ace rag.
He didn't call down, he shoved at the flop.
I got the same player back later on when he called my 15x again with ace rag when I was holding rockets and hit case ace on flop. All's well that ends well.

Re: Beat/Vent Thread
If 5x isn't cutting it then 10x prob won't either, may as well jam it
I realise he didn't call you down, I meant more along the lines of if someone suddenly raised 10x it would look like bs and Ace high may well be good.

tell me why we want Ace-rag to fold? we are pretty decently ahead of A3, and we get to play a pot in position. missing out on a TON of +EV spots by raising so much.
i agree with pete, you may as well jam. in a rebuy i sometimes do that too, in a cubed, not so much, i tend to play cubed events more like standard tourneys.

Yeah I agree it was too big a raise,10x pre flop isn't usually in my game as you know benny the cunt. I was running good at the time and thought I may as well try 10x and see what happens, my bad in hindsight. In saying that though I believe had I raised 3x or so he would have still shoved the flop to represent and we would of had the same scenario.
All in all, had he not hit runner runner it would have been the perfect hand
Thanks for input guys, I should put a few hands in the discussion as my game sucks atm.
