How come? Both of these things drive people to play more satellites

I don't mind the idea of transferring a winning ticket from one player to another. I would encourage players to win as many as they can. I personally have never liked players being able to transfer tickets to later events as it diminishes the prizes pools and give those said players an easy ride through the following season.

I am also a big fan of qualification methods that reward players for volume of games and those games results like POTM (player of the month) etc. Although direct entry satellites where you can bank your finals ticket in one hit are good for some, It's just not my cup of tea.

I would love to see something like a DS monthly freeroll tournament for winners (where maybe top 1-2 get entry) or perhaps a another go at the MQF (Monthly Qualifying Final) which I am sure the boys at FHG would be able to deliver so much better now after our learning experiences from the first season of the 888PL.

I don't know if it's just me, but live pub poker has become less and less attractive to me as of late (even know the structures seem to be getting better and better)

I played the $10 CBI at Dingley last Friday and it was great, had a few beers donked'like'a'boss for 2-3 hours, I had fun. I just I felt like what's the point though, why bother going to these games which are soo -EV when I can simply reg at my local freeroll ten times (and not stamp up) and then buy directly into the SF's and GF for rough amount of $600 which is only about 20-30% more than what I would have spent if I had have stamped up at 10+ live games.

I am really interested in seeing where this Main Event leads... I like the idea.

If the organiser is trying to minimising 'buy-in' type entrants, this is a good way to do it. It is also personally annoying when people are going for their Xth ticket, and people without the luxury of time are starved of opportunity to win into the showcase of the poker league they support.

It would be easy to do, and if their is genuine interest in these satelites then it will open up the field to a different level of player (rather then the obsessed ones).

I understand you have to beat the best to be the best etc, but I think 888pl will feel a flow on effect - more new faces in what is a seemingly stagnenting market.

Transferring the ticket to the next Main Event will eliminate the unlikely event of personal emergency or prize ignorance preventing entry.
May all your pain be champagne!

This is awesome :o ......although sadly without direct buy in and almost non-existant satalites/qualifiers here in Tassie our total representation will most likely come from top 4-5 semi finalist  ? (currently a $550 ticket to all final table).

Otherwise it sounds like a huge step in the right direction and further conformation of the progression and superiority of our (combined) league.

Yeah Nath, thes are only good if the dealer doesn't flip your winning card whilst dealing, resulting in you being the bubble!! :o ;) :D

Whilst I think the Main Event and concepts are great and I can't wait to play in it in Feb...

The Grand Final comes first.... Shouldn't the focus be on getting as many as possible to that??

Hardly heard a peep about this and its only 4 weeks away. Almost no promotion, haven't seen any satalites other than the State final's weekend.

Should I just ask to pay the additional $700.00 now and Rollover the Grandfinal Ticket and just play the main event in Feb only??

IMO the discussion about this should start on 31 August 2011.

I'm definitely thinking of playing the 6pm game on the SF weekend!

agree with this, i know they have probably had a lot to do with the takeover etc, but this grand final hasn't really been advertised that much.

I spent 10m on the 888pl site last night trying to find info on satellites to this GF but I couldn't see anything.

Is there a weekly game online or something?

They are already giving away 17 seats to the main event while our support is rewarded with the GF.

I would like to know how this is fair, are 888PL players going to have a fair and equal chance or should we all convert to APL.

Its very hard to kick goals without goal posts.
