very much so. heading to a friday night game at docklands you can see what a "natural" part of a night out it can be. Heading to Footy park on the other hand, is more like an adventure that requires planning.

yeah cant wait until it is in the city, i can see myself going a bunch more as part of a night out.

Really? North Melbourne must be close, they're like the Port Adelaide of Vic.

I don't think anyone HATES North, as it is my understanding most of SA feels about Port.

North are prob in a worse position, but they have stronger links and a more passionite base. With new Arden street facilities and a passionate & innovative administration - they should be fine.

Supporter apathy, unsuccessful history and disjointed base are good reasons why teams struggle - all of which St. Kilda has.

But having said that, I don't think they are going anywhere - just that they will be the team I would not miss.
May all your pain be champagne!

I've never seen a club NOT gain so much as North Melbourne after winning two flags in 4 seasons.

It's not a coincidence that the teams who entered late in the VFL, are the ones with the lowest supporter base.

Most kids will follow the team their parents follow.

Dads buy their kids club gear before they can walk and talk.

Success does not convert into greater member support.

For example, Richmond haven't had success for 30 years, and they still hold a good supporter base and when they start playing well, they all come out of the woodwork

Arron, AAMI stadium is a 15 minute bus ride from the CBD buses leave every 15 minutes & Adelaides' bus services are 100% better than the Melbourne transport services, That won't run if its to hot or to wet. :)

Seriously, how hard is it to get his name right.

disagree with this mate.

the busses in adelaide are pretty horrible.

you are correct about the busses leaving every 15 mins etc, but that is cbd only, so if you are in the northern suburbs, you have to catch a train and then a bus and total trip would be in excess of 90 minutes i would think.

the best thing about eithad, mcg, and adelaide oval for that matter, is that they are all in the cbd, which would cut my travel time to 50 minutes, not to mention the fact that it is much more convenient to go out afterwards etc etc. and whenever i have been to melbourne i have been able to walk or catch a tram, which is super convenient. trams are great.

my experience with melbourne public transport has been nothing short of first class (and it should be better given that melbourne is 4 times the size of adelaide). i guess everyone think's that the transport in their city is bad and everywhere else is better but im not sure its like that in reality, we are a first world country, so the transport systems are going to be similar, give or take of course.

Agree with all of this, for us northern suburbs folk it's either drive in or catch the "crows bus" which I did last week.

My experiences with Melbourne's public transport system are the same, worlds above Adelaide's.

And it's Aaron :D

scott stevens retired today.

pretty sad end, i really liked him as a player. was never a star, but was always, always dependable, and provided the crows with a lot of flexibility. they are really missing him this season without bock and davis - i think they almost certainly would have won 1 or 2 more games if they didnt' have to play sellar and thompson

Yeah if collingwood had made seven straight preliminary finals imagine the spot they would be in now, even better then thy are! For north to do that, and still be a small club is amazing.

By the way, there have also been some rumblings about a Tasmanian consortium going after the powers license in a fee years time, knowing that the afl is unable to expand to more teams in the next five years, and unlikely to expand in the next broadcast deal after that either.
Riskers gamble, experts calculate.
