Re: Help me Lose 10-15kg
Of all the posts in this thread i have to say nice post RCON.
Hey Luke
From previous experience in the health and fitness industry i would highly recommend avoiding such programs like the Atkins diet.
Although RCON has had proven success with the diet it is not really a healthy choice system. It is a low carb, high protein regime. This does encourage rapid weight loss when coupled with a decent physical fitness program however the BIG negativity of the diet is not only can your blood pressure sky rocket but keeping the weight of when you hit you goal size is very difficult.
The BEST diet in not only my opinion but several of Australia's top health professionals would be the CSIRO Diet. It is well balanced with excellent diet and exercises plans.
Rather than cut carbs from your diet, you should intake carbs in the early hours of the day (particularly low GI carbs) then co-ordinate higher protein foods for the after-noon and evening. This will allow your body to balance your physical output capacity in the most effective way and put you in a better mental state to focus, exercise and sleep well.
ANY DIET THAT SAYS IT'S EASY SHOULD DEFIANTLY BE AVOIDED!
It will be hard work no matter what route you take. You can't just loose weight, you have to keep it off too!
If you are keen on setting yourself an exercise regime, there are proven reports that recommend morning plans over afternoon and evening plans. You are more likely to stick to a morning schedule than a later one. Plus the benefits of a morning program pay double divid-ends in the output of said program.
When you exercise (cardio) your body increases its metabolism significantly as you burn fat stores. This increase, depending on our training style can last up to several hours after your complete your exercise. If you exercise in the AM you reward your body with a more active metabolism through the rest of your day, burn energy more effectively through the day and then rest/sleep better at night.
Two fantastic training methods to maximize your metabolism increase are FARTLEK training and S.H.I.T (Super high intensity training). In both of these styles you generally exercise only at say 30% of your capacity for the majority of your session but include specific burst of 100% capacity.
For example: Your go for a 45 minute walk, during your walk, every 5 minutes you burst into a 30 second sprint and run till your guts hurts. You use the next 5 minutes to regain your strength (or vomit) and then burst again. This from of training burns the most calories as well as increases your metabolism dramatically for several hours after.
Hope some of the advice i have posted helps you achieve you goals. Remember there are no quick fixes and you need to set realistic goals. I would recommend you aim to lose 1KG per week (any more than 1.5Kg borders on unhealthy).
Best of Luck Luke
