The idea of a GTD amount is that, even if 888PL thinks it will be reached - it needs the appearance that it won't be reached. Otherwise it's not a selling point.

Thanks all for your feedback; we all appreciate it.
However, on the matter of promotional mechanics and prize monies, the majority of issues and directions lie with me.
Glyn is not responsible for our investments in online nor is he aware of the cost of promotion and ROI scaling. Glyn was simply instructed to go ahead with planning the Online Champs and ensure that there is no possibility of overlay.
We will not be expending any further fiscal resources on online activities at this time or into the near future, apart from established and communicated promotions.
Glyn has done a wonderful job after taking on the responsibility of online activities and associated player support and he is doing all he can with the tools he is given.
As a result, and seeing as it is a point of consternation, I will be instructing him to remove the guarantees from future Online Champs events.

I like the events.
have to though admit, thought the deepstack last year went on too long.
Good to see the main event is a seperate day.
The Heads Up event I was doing really well and then got stuck on a table with a good player. We ended up playing heads up for what seemed like 1 1/2 hours. Got together with about 20 players when I was eliminated only 6 players left and he short stack as everyone else was running through their heads up.
Idea for future event and unsure if can be implemented, but the repecharge events Crown do I think would be good maybe over a couple of weeks instead leading up the the 888pl online championship weekend.
You play for x amount of hours and carry your chips over.
