Well now I'm really annoyed. I just typed a big long post with my experience of some rather successful means to lose weight. But something ate my post.

so here we go again (some of it is on my clipboard)

I've managed to lose 45kg over the last year and a half.

I was on Atkins and very strict about it, for about 3 months in late '06 and lost 30kg.

My weight then stabilised for 9 month as I started to eat normally again, but I did lots of running and cycling to keep the weight stable.

I then counted calories and stuck to a approx 1500-1600 calories a day for 5 weeks do drop from 100kg to 87.

And now that I eat a bit more again, I have to do lots and lots of cycling and gym work to keep the weight off - I'm down to 85.

But the diet I used thru both those periods was as follows.

Breakfast (whilst on Atkins)
2xBacon, 2xEgg (NO TOAST)

Breakfast (whilst counting calories)
2x weet-bix

lunch on both
tuna tin + salad if hungry

tea
steak with salad
chicken with salad.

Not really hard, just boring!

You stop being hungry after a while

I found it very daunting to start with, but it got easier as I started to see results. My cousin is following this plan and has dropped form 165 - 145 in the last 3.5 weeks too. So it does work.

Anyway, just thought I'd share that 'cause I have been in this situation and have succeeded.

yup. You've got to have it to lose it tho. Its probably more like 5 weeks tho - its since the start of march.

The bulk of my first 30kg came off in the first 6 weeks

Duramine is a great tool for weight loss - getit prescribed by DR, but no good for people with heart problems. Ive been on it a couple of times but wont do it again - first time worked a treat - lost stacks in a short amount of time eating whatever, second time was strict on what i ate & didnt work aswell (strange but true)!!! It does stuff with you a bit thoughm, its made with same stuff speed is. some dr's wont prescribe
