Regional Finals and Prizes

Postby mr_niceguy_1979 » Wed Apr 02, 2008 5:31 pm

I have been reading about all the wonderful things regarding the Barossa/Gawler Regional finals and prizes included magazines and cards etc. Have all the venues within the Barossa/Gawler region contributed to run this tournament or is this something that NPL has "put on" for the region?

Also, what about the prize money offered for regional leaderboards? Who puts this up?

Could these type of prize promotions be run for other metro regions?

B&G region - best region since 1998 :D

I think all of our prizes (regional finals, cash prizes for top 5 in region) are just because our smaller venues don't get $100 cash every week (or whatever) for 1st place, and we only have a few venues to chose from every week, compared to the 4 or 5 you guys have every night.

So yes its something "put on" by the NPL for our lovely little region.

Does anyone know whether the cash prizes for the regional leaderboard and regional final be returning this season, by the way?

All I'm gonna say is (to try to clear my name) don't believe everything you read!

I was sober and only had 1 drink all night!

But Matty and Darren did have VERY new red shirts on... and I was copping glare off Darren's head all the time.

With Matty living in Lizbeth, I doubt head office will even be able to read the report, little own clear it!

And to squash any rumours, yes I did finish higher than a lot of you...I made 17th.

I was sitting here trying to work out what "little own" meant. Then I said it out loud ...

Getting this back on topic... If NPL put up this tournament, why wasn't something like this organised for the other regions? What is happening this season? It would be great if players from other regions were offered the prize opportunities that Barossa/Gawler region are, both in the form of the regional tournament and regional leaderboard.
