Re: 2011 888PL Online Champs Discussion
I gotta say, with the exception of the High Rollers getting a little turbo towards the end, the structures of these online champs were great!! The tourney that went the longest was the deepstack (as it should) and that went for 11+ hrs and still finished around midnight. The ME, which previously has gone ALL night to finish around 8am, finished just after 1am. PERFECT!!!
13 hrs of grinding is not so bad when you start at 12pm, not like 13 hrs from 7pm, and the syncranized breaks make a HUGE difference!!.....
Well done guys on a great structure, I look forward to this happening 4 times a year....

+1, although i didnt play DS or HR. The fact that Bionic Mike and I played over 200 hands HU in the 6max says a lot for the structure.
But if 888 still cant run a proper HU tournament by Next Year, dont hold that event...? I love HU poker, but comments I read about players being moved mid-game to someone who outchipped them 3:1 - thats no fun, and certainly doesnt indicate who best HU player is. Not that any 1 tourney will do that but is much closer than "Who had quickest matches/most favourable re-seats"... Not to mention this is prbably the hardest game to multi-table when ppl arent used to doing so, which I would doubt many have muti-tabled HU matches before.... And I recall atleast 1 person mentioning, nightly HU shootouts would be awesome, but not this 2max 'thingy'.

I'd not played a 2max before, but had played HU shootouts.
HU shootouts > 2max
The idea was cool, and something different is always interesting. It just sucked, that's all
I do really like the idea that the OC will be every season. I'm sure there's a lot of players who can't make semi/grand finals and this would have to be the next best thing.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Re: 2011 888PL Online Champs Discussion
This was my first time playing the Online champs and I loved it so thought I'd share my thoughts.
Given we only had one DC here last night, I kinda liked 'em
Nah, the software is obviously horrible, but it is slowly getting better.
My main issue last night was multi-tabling when the High Rollers opened as a 3rd window. Was doing fine in the ME and the PLO, then along comes the HR and it really broke my concentration. Note, this is not a criticism of the scheduling, it is my responsibility to be ready to play the games I register in - 888 UI and I just don't gel. I will not be scheduling 3 MTTs across 2 variants again. I ended up just concentrating on the PLO as I was CL for a while. The UI just isn't clean enough for me to monitor different games easily - might have to put some practice in before the next one. Very disappointed in myself for lack of application on the ME and HR.
Loved the structure of the games I played in, PLO perhaps could have done with a few more start chips but this is a "gut feel" not a voice of experience - i usually only play ring games.
End result of two early exits and a final table (7th).
Definitely won a fan here.
Wow. Go Firefox. Had a power outage writing this and it saved it all.

Disagree entirely about the multi tabling on 888. It obv isn't as clean as stars or tilt but I can still easily 8 table on it, (most often i will have 4-5 open on 888, 2 on tilt, 1 on stars and one on cake and its fine for that)and it smashes sites like party poker.

I thought most of the events had a good structure, but running deep in the deep stake, did cause major head ache. Had to sit out the PLO as was doing me in trying to play four tables. one plus side Combined breaks helped a lot.

Not so easy for us mere mortals though.

its just practice - if you arent used to it then its insane but after a while its no big deal.
i just started adding 1 at a time until i got comfortable.
10 is my limit where i start occasionally timing out etc these days. mostly because i try to chat on msn at the same time.

Re: 2011 888PL Online Champs Discussion
So seriously - don't schedule any more than three majors to operate at the same time?
For someone who can 12 table I don't really consider it, but I do find it slightly confusing as to what RCON's issue is with three tabling? Mutli tabling is multi tabling no matter what site.
But I honestly think anyone should be able to four table (full ring) without too much effort.
