But it is true. The reason being is when they calculated the odds for said hands they took the probabilities of drawing for a flush out of contention. Look up some posts in poker network. There has being plenty of discussion on this topic. AND IT IS STILL UNBELIEVABLY STUPID!

Think that is for 5 card draw.

So not holdem and drawing, but 5 cards to a player.

Will look for the thread.

Brett.

here's the link again.

Yes, it is in relation to 5 card stud, but it's an interesting read nonetheless.

Getting back ... I think the hand rankings need to include a 6 card straight and also a Crowded House - a four of a kind and a pair - a straight frush and a royal frush! I reckon a home game with this ranking of hands may actually be quite fun - though NEVER to be encouraged for a real tourney game!

Perhaps we could have a pre-season tournament with the new hand rankings... 9 point goals make the NAB cup kinda interesting :)

I think 3 pair is my best hand lol

Joker !!!

forget the presented proposal and include a " joker"

in your deck

and then we could have a real "Aussie Holdem Poker" GAME

created right here in South Australia

JOKER PLAYS THE CARD YOU

WISH YOU HAD/WANT TO WIN

I THINK i'LL START MY OWN
poker league

AND TAKE ON THE JAGANAUNT ' NPL LEAGUE"

Well I was also giving it some thought and how about after you reveal your hands, if you can improve your hand by using a card from the other players' hand, then why not?

That is if you had a gut shot straight draw and need to hit a 10 and didn't hit it, but the other player has the 10 in their hand, he shows his hand, therefore BINGO, you now have the straight. Thanks for showing mate, now I can use your 10 (he knows this but if he folded his hand you won the pot anyway!)

Could this catch on???
