The food on the MRQ is great, not sure whether they would allow BYO stuff though, even for a BBQ - its reasonably swish, but i guess you could check that out. sounds like a fantastic idea. im in!
SWISH? Well that eliminates 50% of the field.

In addition to "yeh, I'm in", I'll also suggest that I'd personally like to see it run in the mid year uni break, so sometime in July.
If 2 days, I'd go with 50 runners, or 90 for the 1 day
And I'd be happy to pay a couple(2-3?) of hundred $$'s for a two day event so long as that included accomodation, meals etc. Else up to 100 for a single day would be fine too.

Re: Info regarding Riverboat Poker cruise
ummmm, its a great idea but!
Before you get too far down the road, stop and think about the local NPL venue, have you thought about the possible dis-enfranchising of the venue that supports NPL all year.
It maybe better to include them in you ultimate plans,
ie Day 1 at the local venue, and day 2 on the MRQ
Some of the ideas here may need revising to comply with state gambleing laws and NPL rules.
• All players will donate an amount to be decided, that will be divided between a charity of the venues choice (i.e. Red Cross), a smorgasbord evening meal, and the remainder split into prize pools for each session and NPL staff costs.
• Each player with have an increased chip stack to start with i.e. 5000 instead of the 1000 plus 2 passport chip rebuys.
• To assist in entertaining those knocked out as the each tournament progresses bad beat tables will be run during each break.
o At the 1st break 1 bad beat table will start with as many players available to maximum of 8, at the conclusion of the bad beat table or the conclusion of the break the player with the highest chip count will re-enter the tournament, with a chip stack equal to the lowest chip stack on the table he/she joins.
o At the 2nd break 2 bad beat tables will run with a maximum of 16 players, all players knocked out are eligible for a seat on 1 of the 2 tables except the winner of the 1st bad beat table, if there are more than 16 players then the group is split in 2 and each group draw cards for a seat, the 8 highest card win a seat. As in the 1st bad beat table the same rules apply for each table winner.
o During the running of the bad beat tables there are a couple of options for the quick conclusion to the table.
Blinds double after every 2nd dealer
Instead of Blinds being posted each player posts a 100 ante; this may limit the haste all in bad beat player.
• Another option is run a number of prize tables to keep the knocked out players in the building, NPL and the club could provide prizes for these tables
