CWC2011

Postby rcon » Mon Feb 21, 2011 7:38 pm

Kick off in 20

Hello all! Welcome to match four of the Cup that counts, and it is the first sight of the defending champions. They must be tired of defending by now, they haven't lost a game in over two-and-a-half World Cups! As Brydon Coverdale exquisitely puts it, The last time Australia lost a World Cup match, the cricket world was a vastly different place. Twenty20 was but a glint in a marketing man's eye, Bangladesh was not yet a Test nation and Hansie Cronje was still a well-respected captain of South Africa. And a 24-year-old Ricky Ponting was making his name as a star of the future. Mind-boggling. Everything else you need to know about the game is in Liam Brickhill's preview.

Peter Borren gets bowled, gets called back when he's almost 2 metres from leaving the field because Paul Collingwood was out of the circle at the time of the dismissal so it's a no-ball.

should be Krunchie - their grandstand.asx file was working last night.

Underway in Nagpur - Ponting won the toss and put the Kiwis in to bat.

3.4

Tait to BB McCullum, OUT, McCullum has holed out, or has he? Caught at third man by Krejza, but the umpire wants to check if he over-stepped. He landed alright, but the foot skid a few inches forward. Still doesn't over-step so McCullum has to go. Full delivery outside off, Baz looks for the extravagant carve over point, but since his feet weren't across it went off the outside edge, close to the bottom of the bat.
