888 Poker League Grand Final set to star Shane Warne[u][/u]

The 888Poker League Grand Final taking place from the 11th-13th of March at the Crown Poker room will welcome special guest888 Poker Team Captain, Shane Warne. The main event, kicking off on the Saturday, will have an expected prize pool of $200,000 with the relatively small buy in of $500.

Shane Warne was a guest at the first 888PL Grand Final in 2010 at the West Adelaide Football Club and is excited to return to this year’s Final. Shane stated, “ 888 poker league Grand Final is a great poker tournament to be part of and I hope to get to the final table this year.”
The last Grand Final, held in August 2010, was a huge success with over $240,000 in cash and prizes won over the weekend. This included the previous winner Luke Roberts sealing an impressive $54,000 for first. This Grand Final promises to be bigger and better than ever before as Crown Casino comes on board to host the event.

Other events of the weekend include an 888PL exclusive bounty event kicking off on the Friday night for $55, and a newly created Partners event on the Saturday evening for $110 per team which will be open to both members and the general public. Also available will be 888PL exclusive Sit’n’go and cash tables, as well as the always popular high stakes poker and regular tournaments provided by Crown.
The weekend will be covered by live reporting group ‘Poker Network’, with up to date blogs posted about player progress and tournament information.
