Again we don't get this. We have had instances where players have been threatened with being sat out for continually talking during the speech. I think the TC knows that it is part of his job that he has done everything to ensure that the players hear the information they have been told to give. Whether the players choose to listen though is another thing :)

From my point of view, I am pretty impatient once we all sit down and I rather get the game started rather than listen to a TC giving a preamble.

However the rules and etiquette should be announced by the TC at the start of every game.

As far as special 888pl announcements and events, that could be presented to you at registration either by word or by flyer.

2 minutes of your time before a game isn't much to ask for.

1.) Dream Team Final now consists of 200 qualifiers (all derived from scoreboards) and only 3 will walk away with the right to represent 888PL as the Dream Team and in Australasian events. Is this cool with everyone?
I think this is a good idea. Maybe have over a best of three with your 2 best scores counting. (Encase you are unable to play all 3)
Everything else looks okay.

My main "concern" is 888pl seems to be aiming at high stake players.
Though I like the idea of $20 and/or $40 events struggling to get the minimum numbers of players. Most people that play each week at venues are family people. It is easy to justifiy spending $20-$40 on a night out, but explaining to your wife you've just spent $40 on an online game is pretty hard.

Also with numbers being less than 30 in some events and only top 3 getting paid. You could have a great week finishing 4th in 4 events but actually end up with no money and spent $100. Yes I know if you do finish top 3 this is covered, but lets just go with the basic maths. 4 events and only 12 different players max gets paid. Thats at least 17 not getting paid anything. (based on the same 29 players each event)
Unsure how to make it more appealing, but maybe if you had the payout where everyone gets paid for making the final table. Or at least the top 5 regardless of number of entries.

Just my thoughts:)

the buyins across the rest of the week have been lowered considerably, so i would say that if you played all events the total spend would only be slightly more

but i do agree that the tuesday and thursday $20 events should be rolled back to $15 or $15 so they actually run

Hi Garth,

I imagine the Dream Team structure is set for time being, which is cool cause I like the direction it is heading. In any case I thought I would just put this out there for public consumption. Currently there will be a dream team qualifier every season with top 3 taking the prize for each particular season. Thats 12 people over the year. Do you see any merit in having the dream team for the entire 12 months. By that I mean play the qualifiers each season but each one is for points only. At the end of the year the top 10 points scorers over the 4 qualifiers make the dream team with the remaining 2 spots going to the two Grand Final Winners for that year. Those 12 people then represent 888PL as the dream team in various tournaments over the next 12 months. If you used the entire $20000 that is currently on offer each quarter, you could maybe increase the dream team number to 20 or so.

Regards

G

Probably just me but is there any chance of getting a late game . i,e. 12:30/1am . like insomniac used to be . For us that have nothing better to do @ this time of night . & just need that one more fix of poker before bed ;) .
It would be good for afternoon shift workers , That do not get time to play most other games .
Low stakes 55 cent buy-in / $1 .

wow a creative thought by me , who'd of guessed ?

cheers [_])

Longest blinds levels & a deeper stack,
i,e. 15minute levels & 5 k start stack would be "awesome". Cost could be experimented with, But I'm sure there are players wanting a 888PL game @ this time of night.

cheers, ([_] [_])
after all Insomniac did have good numbers for that game

I would like to see something for the venue winner.

Perhaps convince the venues to put $50 in for the venue winner which then goes in a grandfinal ticket pool. Winners could then be put into regional groups of ten players or play off online for the grandfinal tickets. This could also be a side event at the semifinal for venue winners to playoff for the grandfinal tickets.

This would add an extra motivating factor besides bragging rights for winning a venue
