3 nights a week freeroll poker was the go for us costing us a very minimum of $90. Now this is going to excalate out of proportion. If we play the 2 new cash games that have taken the place of 2 of our freerolls this will cost us an extra $70 a week to start with. Now everyone has an extra drink or so so that will now be $160 plus maybe an extra $40(being conservative) over 3 nights for the extra drink or two. This is not counting any meals!!!!
Now you tell me who has $200 or more to spend on poker a week? Not many people. And the ones that do have this sort of money to spend go to the casino where they may be able to actually make it count for something.
I am very disappointed that this happenning, and especially in the area we live in as this area is mainly people of low to middle income who really can't afford this type of thing. To me this is irresponsible promotion of gambling. But that is just my opinion.
On another note, I would have thought that any changes to games would happen at the begining of the season and not part way through. Where does this leave the players who have done well in the freeroll events and now can't play the cash games that have taken their place????
PS: We were told when registering this evening that the cash games were voted in by the players for Tonight (Tuesday) - I would have thought that this would have been concluded after the players registered and voted and not beforehand?????
