A few of us were talking about this last nite at the Gardens and thought it would be a great idea.

However, our thoughts were not just centred around the "poker scene" but also as a "Social / Family" type event. Places like the Barossa or River-land have so much to offer and it would be wasted if we only went there to play poker.

Obviously we not only need a venue to cater for the larger numbers but also be able to accomodate the punters family and or partners.

Also by playing in these areas there is the added benefit of NPL having at least one venue in each town which allows them to split the punters into 3 groups. Then maybe hold the final session at the biggest of the 3 venues?

I'm sure the locals would love to show us their towns as well as their poker skills. They have the local knowledge of accomadation, eateries and places of interest etc, to entertain the visiting punters and their families, providing it wasn't a "holiday weekend".

Maybe a paddle steamer run down the river or a tour of the wineries or even get the Lions Club involved in a massive BBQ, etc.

Places like the Barossa's Nuiriootpa, Anguston and Tanunda that are all pretty close to each other. Or, the River-land's close townships of Loxton, Berri & Renmark make a great weekend away worth while.

Places such as the above have other family type options available. Obviously the Barossa has various wineries, museums, theme parks, etc, and the riverland area have the same plus boating options on the Murray.

Who knows, maybe this could be the start of an NPL Social Club!!!!

The "host venue/s" could set up a committee and be responsible along with NPL in making it a great weekend.

This way we can support and visit the country Punters one year and then maybe we have a city venue the next year.

So many options, what do you country punters think???????????

By the way the Gardens cracked the 100 plus punters last night. Looks like the bounty prizes and the $100, $50 & $10 to the finalists made a difference. Well done Tim for another great final table, Mark for your support and our ever so humble host Greg.

10 bounties in total. "Critter" was main bounty Allan from the "Lizzabeff sex shop" took out the $100 plus a bottle of "Shivvers Regal" LOL.

Great night good to see that many at a great venue. Plenty of room and room for another 3 to 4 hundred at least, LOL.

Anyone considered having the finals there one day?????
Greg said theres plenty of car parking available next door if it were a goer??????????

I heard from a totally unreliable source that this event is a dead cert to held in Juneish.

Negiatations are going well with a venue out of town.

look out for more soon.
42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.
