Yes, really. It is the correct play. Even with 20BB I am recommending open shipping with QQ,

Yes, QQ maybe, but none of us had QQ.....

Sorry, that was meant to read AQ.

Jo,

I have noticed more and more that players are afraid of getting drawn out on, the fact remains that sometimes you need to get aggressive and gamble up.

The first true thing I learnt about poker was this: "the spots where you are closest to losing the hand, are the spots where you will make the most amount of money".

I am just saying at times (especialy with less than 30BB stacks) it's not about post flop play or trying to stay in a little longer, it's about using fold equity and or calling ranges to your advantage to gamble it up and hopefully find yourself in a better position.

benny the cunt,

You are heading into the realms of ICM, just be aware that your logic may be out of reach for some.

Ok guys, I understand what you mean. But fact remains I was never going allin in this hand with K9 until I hit trips on the turn. The normal turn of events on this hand would be Harps raising pre and me folding. As played, I still think I was unlucky to have lost it......

Garth, that is definitely the case in this hand....

The edge he is talking about is your missed shove. I could go through the maths on why a shove here is good but I think I will fall on deaf ears

Each to their own

Mate, I was talking about Harps!!

He made the most money when he had virtually lost the hand....

**And definitely deaf ears if you think I should shove pre here with K9....

G'day ,

Jo is one of the players I RESPECT the most . For his skill , talent to get reads on people & for being a Great person .
That being said there was noway he was getting me out of the hand . I did know Jo had a set , & it was only another 1,800 to call his re-raise . But even if he had of pushed pre-flop . " I was still calling " I was having a very good run of cards @ that time .
In fact most of the game the cards had been hitting for me .

p,s. I was happy to win the hand but I did feel bad about the way I ended his tourney . Again 1 of the few players I respect & really enjoy playing against "Always A good challenge"

this just shows that you are stuck at level 1 thinking. i think you are probably the best level 1 player i have played against, but still. not going to bother talking strat with you anymore.

i wouldn't feel bad at all, jo got very lucky on the turn when there was no way you were ever folding.

i probably check behind on the turn instead of betting, if you bet i think he folds everything that you beat, and it gives you a free chance to hit your flush on the river.

i like raising slightly smaller than 3x preflop here, something like 1400 would be better than 1800 imo, just because it gives you a bit more wiggle room.

but overall i dont think you played it badly, but i would probably check behind on the turn
