Stay Classy San Diego!

Great Game, great result(s)!!

I was lucky enough to have no luinchtime appointment today and took the opportunity to sit back and watch how my 2 wagers fared (Game total 50+ & SD to win (-5.5)).
Missing the kick off the Denver Broncos either scored a TD from the opening kick return or from their first drive as it was 7-0 with only 2 mins gone when I flicked the game on.
SD looked super sharp, selecting receivers at will and powering down the field in the 1st qtr. They easily tied the game @ 7-7 and were swarming Denver when they had the ball. They looked so ferocious that i figured it would be a very tough evening for the Broncos, made up of alot of 3 & out drives. It was. LOL.

I decided to take advantage of what has fast become one of my favourite bet types - who scores the next touchdown (or touchdown #x as centrebet calls it). If a team is on fire (a-la SD) and the other team has a 3rd & long (especially in their own 50 yards) (a-la DEN) then I call my mates @ Centrebet and take the decent odds on SD for the TD - the odds often sort of juicy cos they do not yet have possession. And if you think about it, even if they denver DO get the 1st down - they are still deep in their own turf and more likely to only get a field goal (keeping the next TD bet alive).

My $20 @ $1.90 (put on at half time) proved wise when Denver threw and interception, SD missed a FG, DEN punted the SD scored their 2nd TD ($18 profit for me).

Waiting until SD regained possesion i stepped it up to $30 at the shorter $1.40 on offer (5:00 left in 2nd qtr). SD actually threw an interception, but Denver could not capitalise and after another pathetic 3 & out drive -gave the ball back to SD who promptly scored their 4th TD for the half. ($12 profit for me)

7-21 @ half time - my line bet was looking safe, and my 50+ was on track if the rout continued (or better if Denver got it together.)

At half time I put another $40 on SD (-5.5) at the lowly odds of 1.20 ($8 profit for me)

Another $20 @ $1.85 for SD to score the 5th TD came in after a sweet 3rd & 9 catch and run for 50+ yards ($17 profit for me)

11:40 to go in the 3rd Qtr while Denver were 3rd & 8 I took the $2.20 on offer for SD to score the 6th TD for $20 ($24 profit for me)

I felt that SD had scored as much as they were likely to, and sure enough Denver drove strong and scored a lucky TD to make the score 14-35.

14+35=49.

So, with about 5 minutes left and me needing either team to simply kick a field goal – I considered ‘laying’ and taking $1.60 on the game score being under 49.5, but decided to see how it panned out and take the loss if the score didn’t change.

SD got within FG range but punted instead, and Denver kept up their form and failed to score. SD then milked the last 1:30 and it was game over.

Great game, plenty of great results, and 1 lesson learned – take the small loss in the above situation.

Opening Balance $347.97 (including live wagers)

Closing Balance $420.57

Today’s Profit $72.60

[quote="Torak"]Good going mate, was considering doing this betting mainly on Tennis/quote]

Do you take the short odds (eg on Federer in early rounds) or do you like closer bouts?

If betting on the short odds i only ever put them in a multi. You have no value under 1.10.
Have put $10 on Federer to beat Murray tonight at 1.78, starts in 20 mins. Both players won there first round matches comfortably, the slower court surface suits Federers game to a tee and if he can stop Murrays running game and try to cramp him up he should win. The other match Soderling v Ferrer i put $10 on Ferrer to win. Soderling relies alot on his power and serve while Ferrer is a much better ground player, the slow court should suit him, he is currently 2-1 this year over soderling and has never lost to him on an indoor court. The odds of 2.80 when i got my bet on were very generous.

Nice to see Federer get up for you, shame about Ferrer (sort of, see below).

I decided to have a look at the tennis match on this morning (Soderling V Ferrer). With Soderling having the 1st set in the bank 7-5, I watched the start of the secon set and Soderling looked pretty good, controlling the shots and waiting for Ferrer errors. He got the break and i called Centrebet during Soder's service game and got on the under 9.5 games (4-2 at the time) the $1.18 on offer became $1.08 by the time they put my $40 bet on and Soderling promptly dropped his serve, and my $40 with it.
He was on 'tennis tilt' and then Ferrer held his serve to love (maybe 15) to bring him right back in it.
I figured it was heading for a tie breaker, which Soder' would be advantaged by (big serve etc) so put $20 on him to win the 2nd set @$1.90. (5-5 30 all Soder serving)

Thankfully he got his act together, held serve and broke Ferrerr for a 7-5 7-5 victory.

So the morning cost me $22.03, but I think I learnt to steer away from set line bets at tiny odds.

Closing Balance $398.54

I took one of these today in the N.O. vs Dallas game - and it could very easily have been much worse - and had the same chance to be a decent day too. I blame 1 man -
Image

Reggie played like a dog on offence and made an a punt return error (Actually Sean Payton can take some of my anger too for even putting him in special teams when he was playing so terrible) that gifted Dallas a game changing TD.

N.O. Looked soooooooooooo good, scoring the first 17 and looking good - then something changed. They just lost their passion, and will. Brees kept hitting recievers who dropped sitters on key downs & gave Dallas possession - where in the opening minutes N.O. played like it was a practice game. From there Dallas made some great plays and some lucky plays - but the comeback looked on - and it was!

Unfortunately I had taken some line bets that were looking shakier the better Dallas played (see below)

Without describing indepth all my bets, I had success with
N.O. win 40@1.48 for $18 profit
N.O. 2nd TD 30@1.75 $22 profit
Dallas 2nd FG 20@2.25 $25 profit
Dallas 5th TD 40@1.95 $38 profit

And failed with
N.O. Win (-4.5) $30
N.O. Win (-12.5) $30
N.O. 3rd TD $30 (a very lucky/classy 60 yard end-around by Dallas)
N.O. 4th TD $30 + another $30 (this p*ssed me off as they blew a 1&10(goal) to settle for a short FG - and the next drive Dallas took a chance on a 4th&1 (goal) for the TD (after the bush fumble too)
N.O 5th TD $40 + $30 (Bree threw interception, cant be too mad at the guy, he is a gun)

Thankfully N.O. pulled it together in the end to win by 3 (a win is a win i spose) but i am cursing what might have been.

I think my only band bet was the N.O (-12.5) even though they were 17-0 at the time, i must take the 'cruise factor' that comes into alot of games.

So, $117 down today, plus I lost $20 on a line bet againts Duke and another $20 tennis bet i cant remember to put my balance at

$282.04

Plenty more thanksgiving sport for me to try my luck on this weekend - oh, and that little thing called the ashes too! :)

Won a couple, lost a couple in tonights Jets v Galaxy game - nothing worth noting - in the spirit of Becks i am having my first real tilt @ EPL

Have the following multi's (all are draw= no bet)

Everton + Man City + West Ham 30 to win 76.36
Arsenal + Man City + West Ham 20 to win 63.85
Arsenal + Man City +Everton 20 to win 53.43
Everton + Man City +West Ham 20 to win 50.91 (accidently took this combo twice)
Everton + Arsenal + West Ham 20 to win 48.59
Arsenal + Everton to win 34.22

West Ham & Everton could be a little shakey - but hell, my cheering may help - cos I WILL be cheering! :)
