Hi Everyone,
This year i am participating in Movember.
For those that don't know this is an event held each November to raise Awareness and much needed funds for Prostate Cancer and depression.
I am doing this because close to 3,300 men die of prostate cancer in Australia each year and one in eight men will experience depression in their lifetime. Through the Movember Foundation and its men's health partners, PCFA and beyondblue: the national depression initiative, Movember is funding world class research, educational and support programs which would otherwise not be possible.
I want to support this in any way shape or form possible. I hope to raise $1000 for the cause. By donating my face for one month and grow a new moustache i hope to stir up some awareness.
Now as you all know, this just wouldn't be a straight up Brett thing without some form of embarassing act to be included in this. So i have set some smaller targets to reward some lucky donators.
Railways Stakes is on the 20th of November this year. CUB (the company i work for) host the day and all the team will be there from WA, around 50 odd from the Beer side. As an extra incentive John Pollaers and Peter Cantwell, the managing director and sales director for CUB will be there.
The person that donates the $500th dollar, will get the chance to nominate a colour for me to dye (fudge) the Mo for the day. So in front of 10 000 people Brett can be sporting a bright Pink, Purple, Blue or Green Mo. I will have pics of this day, which will be on Facebook and also on the Forum for you all to see.
The person that donates the $1000th dollar, they get to nominate what colour i dye my hair for the day. So i could be sporting a bright pink mo with some bright green hair. In a suit, i could so rock the look.
Depending on how the donations go, there could be some further options down the track. Could even be a dress option.
Extra incentive to get some donations coming in.
Whoever donates $50 or more first, will get a voucher for a carton of mainstream beer. E.g VB, Carlton Draught, Carlton Cold, Carlton Dry etc.
Whoever donates $100 or more first, will get the choice of a premium beer, e.g Corona, Stella, Carlsberg, Fat Yak, Beez Neez etc
There will also be some spot merchandise as well for some random donations.
To donate, go to my mospace,
http://au.movember.com/mospace/670824/
and donate via Credit card or paypal.
If you want to donate via 888 transfer i can try and work something out, with receipts and exchange rate.
To start this off, i have donated $100 to the cause, the beer is still up for grabs for the next one.
Cheers,
Brett.

Re: Movember 2010 - Brett's Quest
Ok update so far.
Macca has taken down the first carton of beer. Voucher will be sent on Friday when i get back into K town and can find the post office.
So for the next person that donates $50, can do the carton of beer, or we can look at a bottle of Black Douglas to keep the spirit drinkers happy, and for the young ones, can also do a 12pk of cougar or 12pk black douglas.
Keep donating, have had one person ask about donating if i get a prostate exam. Will check with the local doctors and see, but this has to be fairly decent donation. Anybody else who wants to get in on this, start donating.
And for those sick puppies that are out there, if you want a TR with no pics, that could be arranged.
