Any where in the bush so long as there's good food, good beds, and decent bloody air conditioners and showers.
After 9 days in Victoria I'm sick of showers and dunnies made for midgets.
Please pick a weekend that doesn't gain holiday rates and a location that maybe NPL can get some good deals at Motels etc.

I'd like to get people's thoughts and ideas on a couple of things.
1 - If this event got off the ground and was run in, say, 3 months time, how many runners do you think it would get? (Yes, there are obviously a lot of factors surrounding projected attendance levels. lets hear them!)
2 - Which venue(s), in your region, could be feasible candidates to hold said event, and why?

It would make a great family weekend. The players numbers are a bit of an unknown but I'd say up to 600 punters, maybe even more. Depends on the location and time of the year.
I think we'd need something like the River Land (Berri, Loxton, Renmark) maybe to accomodate everyone or the Barossa area.
Plenty of close towns that have Motel, Hotel, and Caravan sites available.

reply ------ 200 plus runners --- prize monies the attraction ... Dakotdas bounty game had nearly 200...
regional venue may limit some ... but the dedicated will show up to take the monies and reputations associated with the day.
as previous posted Nuriootpa Vine Inn a NPL venue
can seat 250 -300 ? . The Barossa Novet Resort could handle over 200 runners a bit expensive though !
[ I have previously been involved/arranged a sold out event 220 + meal/ performance set in 3/4 of the venues function rm. other possabilities Berri Hotel Motel ---a bit far for the most likely runners.
Somewhere in Murray Bridge--- may B footy club rooms?--- again capacity for 150- 200 - 250 runners is I see the major issue.

I don't think you would get that many numbers but if you were hoping to, then I would try and get the local council etc involved. 600 visitors to any regional city for a weekend would bring a lot of money onto town. Also You could scout for new venues which would be able to handle the numbers. An event like that would be very tempting to entice a venue to be part of the regular season.
The Mid North is probably the most central area in the state if you are going to move outside Adelaide and it fits the 2 -3 hour criteria.
