Thursday night @ Crown a few weeks ago (GF weekend) - 2/3 table - about 1am: had built $200 into a shade over $1000 over about 2 and a half hours. Then I find aces in the cut-off.

MP limp, I pop it to 13, folds to the BB who 3-bets to 37. MP folds, I 4-bet to 95.

BB snap 5-bet shoves his entire $390 stack. I call - board runs out Q4892.

Genius tables Q4.

scott had the player been playing erratically up untill this point? how had you been playing? do you think he might have been aware of your image? had you 3-bet or 4-bet light before?

Depending on the answers to the above questions will dictate whether his play was terrible, or risky but reasonable. You probably only call his 5-bet with AA or KK and its super tough (and probably a fold) with QQ and AK.

so unless he had been playing like a tard up until that hand, its not so bad.

No Matt, this wasn't indicative of his prior play. He had made a few loose calls and run a few average bluffs, but nothing like this. From memory, his only other 3+bet moves like this were with very solid holdings (both pre and post).

I had been a tad loose over the first half hour, but played much tighter from thereon in.
