Re: CENSORSHIP
I think most people will agree that top 3 at a venue is not ideal.

Huge fan of the top 5!
This thread doesn't really seem to be much about censorship anymore...not that it has for awhile anyway

Re: CENSORSHIP
So we are safe to say that at the moment a smaller state Finals field is a resounding negative. But we will give it more time.

Yes! Resounding!
With the NPL wanting to build MORE numbers, ie people playing etc, seems silly to REDUCE the number of places in the state finals

Re: CENSORSHIP
if it was only top 3, i would not have played for the last 3 weeks, as i had a crappy start to the season, and i was nowhere near the top 3.
i was however still in the hunt for a top 5 spot until the very last week, which i didnt make.
but i think you would lose the regular 1-2 games a week players like me in the latter parts of the season because there is no hope of a top 3
100% spot on. im sure the NPL can put up with 600 players for 5 days a year - they are big boys, they can handle it!

Re: CENSORSHIP
Ok next question,
and Dave can you post a poll for me, I have to get moving. Whyalla calls.
Who would be interested in a two day deepstack tournament for say $5000 in the prize pool?

As you say Garth, this is would not be an easy system to run because of the time required and the travel/overnight stay factors, but it would be a fantastic way to run the state finals.

Re: CENSORSHIP
Yes but people would have a much better sense of achievement in making the final. Plus they would get a chance to play a different type of tournament rather than their normal every week game.
Maybe have a couple of wildcard events to win your way straight into the final as well.
