stupid and rude

Postby todd182 » Sun Aug 22, 2010 12:30 am

playing at the empire pool lounge for the first time thursday great little venue. But there was this one woman there who was a little up herself and thought she was the female IVEY shes in a hand were i folded there 3 all ins on a

2c 8c Js flop

she rolls JJ i shout out nuts and she looks at me and says

"what are you stupid thats nowere near the nut" anyway she wins the pot and i spend the next 5 mins trying to tell her that a set is the nuts over a draw which she just would not believe.

long story short i knocked her out about 20 mins later she called me a F+?king idiot and leaves.

theres no point to this story but arent there just so stupid and rude people out there

well its not the nuts on the flop there are two cards to come and there are 2 clubs on the board and a straight draw possible soooo no not the nuts till the turn at least or river depending on other players cards ... what the prob?? maybe more explaining on others hands to see if it was the nut. but to call people expletives when knocked out is just NUTS and not on!!!
CHECK IT TO THE CRAZY !!!!

why isnt that the nuts on the flop

whats beating that.

Remember "the nuts" is an expresion to clarify the best possible hand at each street.

a set of Jacks as far as i can see is the nuts on the flop.

it may not be the nuts on the proceeding streets but for that period of time it is the best possible hand for that board.
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

No, on that flop, top set IS the nuts. That doesn't mean that the nuts cannot change smitdoggy, but it refers to the best possible hand at any one time. So the little old lady had the nuts. Sure if the board runs clubs its no longer the nuts, but it certainly is on the flop.

EDIT: krunchie beat me to it.

So was this person reprimanded for swearing ?
The 'nuts' reference has no bearing, this behaviour is what we should be concerned about...

Yes there are some stupid and rude people out there and while they continue loose control of there emotions and refuse to listen to or respect anyone else they are usually spewing chips also. How great did it feel to be able to take her out given that she believed she was the greatest. I love taking this type of player out and making a comment like "Wow did I really take xyz out when they called I thought they must have had much better." They cant say much because this is what I say if I am truly surprised that they did not have better.

We have one player in our region who tends to do the dummy spit quite often. He is really quite a good player but does not get the results he should because he becomes quite emotional. 1 season he put in the effort to really keep everything under control and for that season he had great results. I was so proud that season because this guy is really a great guy deep down and I knew he had it in him to pull great results.

it was bloody awesome to knock her out, and when i said the nut like krunchie and mac explained on the flop it was the nuts being top set. she didnt get a warning or anything as she stormed out straight after i knocked her out with trips vs 2 pair.

didnt ruin my night but you know nobody enjoys being abused by little old ladies. ill be there agin this thursday as well see if shes there again. not the first time ive been shouted at, at the table. but she would not believ that top set was the nuts on that flop.
