Question;
A player finishes one venue in 5th with 300 points.
The same player finishes 9th at another venue with 120 points.
At the first venue, after people in/outs etc, they are still 5th.
At the second venue, after people in/outs etc, they are 4th.
Do they qualify 4th and get taken out of the 5th place? Even though, before movements, they had a better position AND more points at the first venue?
Hope that makes sense.

Re: Question about top 5 positions
i have also wondered that - gets tricky then.
at a guess, i would say that it would be something like this.
if(player in top 5 at venue and not higher somewhere else)
then remove from all leaderbards and bump everyone else up until all top 5 positions are filled

Dave - yes the higher placed finish is the one that counts.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Yeah it does seem a bit.. shall we say lucky?
If we keep in mind that that session started part way through the season it's no big deal though.

Re: Question about top 5 positions
Wasn't really specifically to do with Payneham but it can be.
Just looks weird if someone gets less points and (before top 5 modifications) is in a worse position yet qualifies there....

Do you mean highest place before or after "top 5 modifications" ?

Re: Question about top 5 positions
i would say that if you were 3rd at one venue, and 5th (that becomes second) at another venue, you would have to qualify from the venue where you were third.
otherwise, how would u know how far you have moved up? there would be other people in the same position that would just complicate things more than ever.

Re: Question about top 5 positions
I do believe it is the highest position first Dave.
All I know is I punch in the qualification rules and the whizz bang computer spits out a qualifiers list which I have to go over with a fine tooth comb.
Highest position first at all time, but I think the process removes all leaderboard players and then calculates venue leaderboards alphabetically, so if you finished 5th at the Alma but actually got pushed up to 2nd at the Wheatsheaf then the Alma is the venue you qualify through because it begins with A.
