No thats how many like BACON + one of our venues has 10 seater tables "I LIKE "

To be serious people come just to play the cash games & stuff up the free rolls . If you still have chips when the cash starts you cannot play the cashie . So you have a CRAZZZY half hour before the cash game starts .
Which is & frustrating .

I think after a month or 2 you'd be pretty sick of seeing $100's of rake eaten by the table.

I know I would be extremely annoyed to win 4 large hands and be sitting there with $60 less than I would with a place with normal (expensive anyway) rake, especially when there are other options around.

It just seems to me people that are willing to lay down money for a decent ring game would be more picky than just playing their local to support it, regardless of cost.

And just a word about the skill and professional of the staff member ran that game, he was a very skillful dealer who's chip handling skill and dealing was fast and accurate, equal to and better than many casino dealers.

It's good they had a good dealer. But what about the other things I mentioned? Did they have someone overseeing the tables apart from the dealer? Surveilance? Security?

I'm not overly precious about any of those things but if I'm paying that much rake it had better be worth it. If I was just after a local game I much prefer a self-dealt, rake free home game to this option.

The distinct lack of pokies in Perth might get more people willing to lay down the hard-earned, Caleb

If someone has less avenues to gamble it doesn't mean they are more willing to hand away money on rake.

I would be very interested to know how they decided the amount of rake and the rake split etc.

I'm not saying this isn't a good thing.

I guess I just don't think the novelty of "ZOMG ring games at the local!!!!" justifies the cost to the player.

tbh i dont like raked cash games outside of a casino for the security reasons you mentioned.

rake free or dealer hire are better options.

Guys you seem to be pre occupied with the amount of the max rake, from what I witnessed at the venue most of the rakes were less than $10.
As rakes go Burswood is 10% to a max of $12, Adelaide 10% & $10, as for the others I have no idea. There seemed to plenty waiting for a seat, it's must be successful from them.

I would happily support a 2/3 game with a majority of the rake going to a charity/sporting club that has a 10% or max $25 rake, and I cannot see whats your problem if you do have a contribute $25 from a pot of over $250 you still getting over $225.

For this type of game to operate it would have to be sanctioned by the WA Government, and by the way each of the staff involved in the all the games at the venue had Photo ID with a government stamp, oboviously all staff must be licenced.

So I float the question again if you were able to play a similar aproved game here in SA would you.

Not if the rake was $25.

I would go to the infinitely safer and more secure casino for the same game at a cheaper price.

Like I said, If I wanted money to go to charity, I would give it straight to them.

I believe that this is moot arguement, there will not be any legalised cash games outside the casino for a very very long time 10+ years.
as regards to a few of Caleb's points if, I had the choice of a casino game or a local game I would probably choose the casino.
It wouldnt stop me from playing the local though, as there is probably more easier targets at a local venue than in a casino.

I don't know where you guys gets this idea from that the rake in Adelaide is good. It's only good in comparison to other Australian casinos, except crown.

Take the $1/$2 in Adelaide for example. Buy-in is $20-$80. A decent dealer will deal around 30-40 hands an hour. That's up to $300 in rake taken off the table EVERY HOUR.

3.5 max buyins removed from play every hour. How do you expect to make a profit over time like that?

Over in Vegas, $1/$2 (same buyins as our $2/$3) rake is 10% capped at $4, no time charge. Industry standard.
