Hi Guys,
I just thought I would touch base on this thread after receiving a message from David Galpin. It seems that someone has highlighted this thread to him and has decided to highlight it in a very negative light.
I have all the respect in the world for David Galpin, his operations and poker room. David is, IMHO, one of the pioneers of Australian Poker and is without a doubt one of the most highly respected poker room managers in the Australasian market, if not the world.
But the fact remains that Adelaide Casino senior management looks upon 888PL very differently since we commenced operating cash buy in events in the South Australian market and as such the commercial relationship between Adelaide Casino and 888PL has diminished greatly. That is why I needed to confirm that Adelaide Casino would not have an issue with us operating Satellite.
I will have to buy the ticket for the winner/s of any ME seats as 888PL/FHG cannot purchase via commercial transaction. And we will not receive any additional cross promotion help from Adelaide Casino. This is a given.
The difference in approach between Adelaide and Crown, when it comes to a relationship with 888PL, is vast and there are major points I can highlight. But we accept the fact that previously SKY CITY casino was our number 1 "partner" when it came to operations nationally and provided us with some great prizes, marketing and events. Unfortunately this is not the current relationship we have and maybe one day senior management will acknowledge us as a legitimate breeding ground for future poker players and continue working with us again.
In saying that I, and 888PL staff, will continue to sport David Galpin and the Adelaide casino in every possible way we can. And if players want an opportunity to satellite into Casino events we will endeavor to supply this for our players.
David,
I am sorry for any offense taken in this thread. This was never meant to come across as a "bashing thread" and the comments made were off the cuff. I wish you and your poker room continued success upon success and still believe you run one of the best poker rooms in the southern hemisphere.
I apologise for my comments made in this thread and will take more consideration when remarking on current relationships and perhaps elaborate on comments in more detail.
