Anyone else seen Repo Men?

I really, really liked it. It wasn't perfect, but the gore/fight scenes were pretty well done. Kinda dropped off in the middle there, few storylines that just seemed dumb, but it was a good time. Alice Braga is hawtttttt.

LOVED the ending, made it 10x better IMO.

Can't wait for "The Social Network," loved the trailer that was dropped recently. Glad Jesse E isn't turning into Michael Cera :)

No, going Sunday Scott. Haven't read any reviews (but the buzz is sensational app) and no little about the plot.. pretty pumped.

Early thoughts on Adventureland: Its aiiiight.

There was a pretty sweet moment just then when Jesse E's character impulsively made a move on Twi-hard Kristen Stewart, it really worked.

Other than that, its not captivating me as much as I thought it would.

I thought as a movie it was quite slow story wise. I think i went in expecting more of a teen comedy kind of thing. But teen drama. Twilight is now ruining movie genres.

Well, I liked it.

As Brett said, it was pretty slow. I knew going in that it was a "dramedy" compared to a lighthearted comedy, so maybe that helped. Kinda sucky that in the two movies I've seen him in, Jesse E is playing the same character, but like I said, The Social Network looks like a different take.

It didn't blow my mind away or anything, but the characters worked well and most importantly, were believable (seeing as its a character piece). Learning that its based on Greg Mottola's childhood made me appreciate the film on another level. Could've used a bit less Bill Hader/Kristen Wiig, seemed over done at times. Was impressed with Kristen Stewart, she came across as young, confused teenager.

Could've trimmed the film by about 15 mins, pacing of the last act sucked.

Anyone else seen Predators? I wanna get into a discussion about it.

I wouldn't mind getting everyone's thoughts on the films of the year so far and what everyone else is looking forward to. From the first post of this thread:

Nathan Butler wrote:Iron Man 2

Enjoyable, didn't "wow" me as much as Iron Man did though. I think I went in with too high expectations. Still a fun time at the movies - I didn't really get all the hate for Scarlett, I thought she actually worked in the film. Needed more (and better, what was with the final fight) action scenes.

Nathan Butler wrote:Robin Hood

Haven't seen this, don't want to. Will catch it on DVD one day when I'm in the mood to watch an epic.

Nathan Butler wrote:Hot Tube time machine

For what it was, I really loved this. The cast worked well together, most important to a comedy IMO.

Nathan Butler wrote:CLASH OF THE TITANS

HATED this. And I caught it in 2D.

Nathan Butler wrote:Day Breakers

I wanted to love it, I really did. It just didn't work, there was too much going on, the plot kept jumping all over the place. Ending was the same as your standard action film, I was expecting something different.

Nathan Butler wrote:Brooklyns Finest

This was gooooood. I'll have to give it a second viewing to appreciate it I think, but I'm a fan of character pieces like this. Great to see Wesley Snipes back on screen (Drop Zone is a classic :D).

Nathan Butler wrote:Alice in Wonderland

Yeahhhhhh-no. Not enough Anne Hathaway. Helena Bonham Carter's act got old about half way through. Johnny Depp was mildly entertaining but he couldn't save it. There was a huuuuuuuuuuge plot hole (that I won't spoil here) in the middle act, I mean I know we're dealing with Alice in Wonderland but this was just ridiculous. The girl that played Alice was too...boring. Didn't like the CGI at all.

Right. For the rest of the year, I'm looking forward to:

- Scott Pilgrim
- The Expendables
- Inception (Sunday bitches!)
- Green Hornet
- The Social Network
- The Killer Inside Me
- Tomorrow When the War Began
- Megamind
- Deathly Hallows
- Resident Evil: Afterlife (only cos I binged the first three the other day and wanna see what this one does)
- Its Kind of a Funny Story (loved the trailer, this looks really sweet)

I'm still yet to see Best Worst Movie & Knight and Day, that's all I can think of so far that I haven't checked out yet.
