I think I have maybe played one away game and it was on a weekend. I would love to play in venue every night and support the league as much as others do, but personal circumstances just doesn't allow for it.

The last 6 months were hectic. I usually started work at 8AM in the morning then had uni till 6 or 7 and by the time I get home it's already 8PM and really no opportunity for poker. You probably noted my absence on these forums and people in the online games certainly noticed my absence for a prolonged period.

It's only been recently that I have finished uni and have taken a break from work that I have an opportunity to get back into it all.

In fact if you have a look at my venue participation for all time, you'll find my most regular game was on a Sunday.

So in, a purely, business sense; I don't give a rats about your personal circumstances. You haven't supported our business, irrespective of reasonings, so you definitely do not fall into the bracket of our target market nor should you be rewarded above and beyond compared to those who do support our league, fall into our target market and contribute willing in the support of our league and business.

In a competition sense - you haven't exactly been a contributing member in recent times; is it fair that we give allowances to those who have past history with the league but in more recent times have not participated actively within the league? Is that fair to the other players of the league who have been proactive within the league?

I am only playing devils advocate here but I am quite sure that if you had 10 away games under your belt this would be a non issue for you.

I know rules are there , they have to be , albiet the complete version is hidden away where i would estimate 90% of players have never seen .

But to qualify to play semis you need 10 away games right ?

How the hell can one qualify via online games by only playing 1 game online ? ?

What is the point of having online game qualifyers when it is irrelevent of how many and well you go ?

I dont care no more , as we are resigned to the fact that the time and money Nisha spent supporting 888PL last season has proven to be a waste !

Happy to be told , and flamed , but disappointment after putting in and trying seems to hit hard !
When choosing between the 2 evils , I like to choose the 1 i haven't tried yet !

I agree with you completely. I am not saying you should care about my personal circumstances at all. I am saying that if my personal circumstances dictated, then I would play in venue but I just haven't been able to. I accept that I will not be able to participate in any events where the prizepool is put up by the business as I have not supported the business in any way. But the GF prizepool is player-contributed which is my main argument here.

I am not asking for any concessions at all. All I was saying in my post about my personal circumstances was that it was physically impossible for me to play games given my schedule.

As I said Garth I have already accepted the 10 away game rule, I just don't agree with it. So even if I did have 10 away games under my belt, I would still disagree with it.

I think when players contribute to the prizepool with their own hard earned cash, the only requirement there should be is that they are a 888PL member (from at least before the last GF to avoid outsiders) and have participated in some form even it is just a single away game.

As a side question Garth, say someone has a GF ticket, hasn't played 10 away games and hasn't sold their ticket, what happens then?

How come you can opt out of playing the GF but not the monthly online quaulifier?

Stuff comes up and you can't play things you sat into sometimes. You should be able to transfer to the next months qualifier, just like you can transfer a GF ticket to the next GF.

Phil,

I gave you the member charter and your out, you only needed to write an email expressing your confusion and disappointment and we would have considered it and more than likely let Nisha in. But instead you continue to post the same stuff over and over again so I will repeat myself for the 50th time:

1.) 10 Away Games must be played within the season to qualify for the Semi Final - especially for Home Game qualifiers.
2.) To be recognised as an active 888PL Member and to participate in the 888PL Grand Final you MUST have participated in 10 Away events between the last Grand Final and the current Grand Final. That is approx 0.4 games per week.

It must be noted that the AVERAGE 888PL player participates in 1.375 Games per week.

Yes there is an issue with the information supplied - it is ambiguous and I am rectifying this now. As you can see from changes to content currently occurring.

Players can qualify by playing one game simply because the players above them have not participated in 10 AWAY games in the season, it's quite easy really and concerning to note that so many Home Game players are refusing to play 0.77 events per week (yes that's right, less than one event per week).

I am not going to reply overly to this Trishan but I will highlight this:

2.) To be recognised as an active 888PL Member and to participate in the 888PL Grand Final you MUST have participated in 10 Away events between the last Grand Final and the current Grand Final. That is approx 0.4 games per week.

That's right the Average 888PL Player will participate in venue 1.375 times per week, yet for us to identify you as an active 888PL member we have cut this AVERAGE status to approx 0.4 games per week. Which is our bottom 10% of players who participate within this league.

Based also on the fact that we make no money off Satellites, fund approx 25% of the prize pools ourselves through other qualification route, continue to run additional events for players to gain seats for great value and then spend almost $30,000 on producing the whole weekend I would say it is quite fair for us to dictate the terms on Grand Final and League participation.
