Hi all,
Now that the super poker weekend has passed, let's hear what you have to say about the events!
The NPL are always striving to deliver a better service to it's customers (both the pubs/venues, and the players) so get your thoughts out here (in a constructive way!) and let them know.

Re: Super Poker Weekend : REVIEWS and SUGGESTIONS
I'll start with some details.
Venues
Both venues were excellent I thought. Plenty of space in both for the number of people there. Obviously the bigger the better, but there wouldn't be a great deal of venues available I would think.
Sitting outside at the start of the first flight of the finals was a bit hot, with the morning sun coming through the cafe blinds and making all of us sweat. I never wear glasses at the table, but I had to!
The toilets pre-flight one were quite busy with a lot of people having nerves!
Food and service at the Ark and the Woodcroft was great.

Re: Super Poker Weekend : REVIEWS and SUGGESTIONS
Food at Woodie was great with pre-made rolls etc. I think the Ark could have done a little more with pre-made food as I think they just offered their pub meals.
Im going to assume there isnt going to be 2 tournaments on the same weekend with Season 2.
Maybe this is possible, or not... have the flights on the Saturday... and the re-combine on the sunday?
I'm not sure if this would impress country players though.

Maybe two venues close to each other. So that way two sections (flights?) are done at one time, and then they join at the other venue.

Re: Super Poker Weekend : REVIEWS and SUGGESTIONS
Trust me I will never ever ever wish to run two big tournaments on the same weekend again. But it may need to happen. The issue raised by Des is a viable one. How many players would like to see a two day event of these sorts? My suggestion, if at all viable, would be to run all metro runners in flight one on Saturday. Then all regional runners on a Sunday. Then commence the recombine at approx. 4 or 5pm Sunday afternoon.

That's a good idea. that way the people who travel the most are metro but odds are it won't be anywhere near as far as country.
I guess what you have to remember is it's POKER! And if people want to play in these big tournaments, they need to put out!

I'm all in. That would be the perfect scenario. And it doesnt have to be at the same venue. Saturday can be at 1 place. And Sunday elsewhere.

Re: Super Poker Weekend : REVIEWS and SUGGESTIONS
Sounds like a darn good idea to me (and I'm not easily impressed I can tell you)
If the 2 different venues were at different ends of town (like with the aussie millions and state final) hopefully every1 gets at least a chance of not having to drive for an hour on one of the days...regional folk are gonna suffer regardless so it wouldn't really matter much to them I wouldn't think.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Re: Super Poker Weekend : REVIEWS and SUGGESTIONS
Both days were great events, looked good and created a buzz.
1 problem though.
The showcase event - Final Table of the State Finals - Late on a Sunday Night?
Everybody went home.
Gotta work tomorrow.
Saturday Night and everybody's keen to stay back and have a look at how the best in the state play, maybe go the Casino after.
But Sunday?
No other complaints, it was great to see the Tournaments staffed well than under staffed.
