Hi All,

Welcome to 888PL's forum for the poker enthusiast who wants to advance his thought process and skills even further than before!

In this forum we will start discussing the higher end maths involved in the game and as well the science/psychology involved with the bigger game.

Please do not hesitate to ask questions or ask for more explanation in these threads;I constantly have to review a lot of my work and at times get lost when studying and have to review articles again and again until I am 100% confident of the material.

I do ask that if you contribute to these forums you have a fair understanding of pot odds and equity percentages for hitting you hand. Please review Brett Kay's articles in the Beginners forum for a brush up on these.

Moving forward you must understand that when discussing a particular hand (in a mathematical or scientific sense) we do not study the results of the one occurrence but rather we study the outcome if we run the hand an infinite amount of times and what the overall outcome is; this is what we call Expected Value. This is definitely not the forum to be results orientated and I will soon write a few articles on $EV, cEV and ICM and the calculations involved.

In this forum we change gears and start discussing some serious high end strat mainly to do with MTT's. I'm not a serious enough cash game player to be able to contribute to serious questions about cash games in this thread. But I hope to have a few new contributors here shortly who will be able to help with these questions.

Welcome to a new world of Maths and Science! Who woulda thunk it!?
